Econo Lodge & Suites Grand Rapids Airport

Parking was good. Price was good. Tv remotes didn’t work correctly. Sinks faucet in bathroom was not bolted down. Breakfast was very light on fruit.

The room was old and definitely had some areas not cleaned. The lobby smelled like the staff was smoking weed in it. There was a bat in the wall or behind our bed that squeaked from 3 am on and we didn’t dare go to sleep. Definitely would not go back.

Room was definitely not inviting for the 2 nights I stayed. Old & Dark. Old, wobbly desk & coffee table in front of stained fold out couch. Stained light switches, air vent grates full of dust, broken light cover in bathroom, dirty & chipped up or missing wall/floor molding. I had to hold the lever down on the toilet ea time I used it so it would complete the flush. Small wall mounted tv in front of fold out couch with plug, surge protector wires hanging down the wall to the plug.

The property was in a perfect location and was easy to find. I believe the property may be making some renovations so it was just okay. The Continental breakfast was very disappointing with very limited options.

Clean rooms although service came in our room while we were changing even though there was a sign on the door not to service room. Older women got a surprise when she opened the door and saw my husband in his underwear.

I enjoyed my safe. The staff were very kind.

For the price and a short overnight stay near the airport, it was a good choice.

When we arrived, there was no one at the front desk and other guests said they they had been waiting for 15 minutes for someone to show up. There was no "Be Back Soon" sign or other indication that the desk was even being monitored. The service staff was upstairs but unhelpful, only shouting "arpah" when asked if they could alert someone. By this time other guests had arrived -- four parties were waiting to check-in when the manager(?) finally came. It came to be understood that he had driven a shuttle to the airport. Maybe this was just a temporary staff shortage. but there should have been some sort of sign about what time to expect his return. We liked the two separate bedrooms, but the place could use a good bit of updating. Breakfast had no coffee available, only a few pastries. We chose this hotel for proximity to the airport, but next time we will book something else nearby.

NOTHING EVERYTHING!!! / TOLIET DIDN'T FLUSH PROPERLY / BATH TUB WAS IN TERRIBLE CONDITION / FAN NOISE WAS EXCESSIVE AND CONSTANT / ROOM SMELLED OLD AND NOT FRESH AT ALL / HALLWAYS WERE VERY DIRTY / THEY OFFERED ME A DIFFERENT ROOM AND WHEN I CHECKED IT OUT, VARIOUS LIGHTS DIDN'T WORK / I RETURNED TO THE FRONT DESK AND TOLD THEM I WAS LEAVING / I WAS INFORMED THAT I HAD A NON-REFUNDABLE RATE AND RESERVATION / IN SPITE OF NOT BEING ABLE TO RECEIVE A REFUND I CHOOSE TO NOT STAY / THIS PROPERTY HAD BETTER THAN AVERAGE RATINGS ON LINE AND THAT'S WHY I MADE THE RESERVATION / I WOULD NOT GIVE THIS LOCATION ANYTHING MORE THAN A 1 AND NOT RECOMMEND IT

Apparently they rented a few rooms to people hosting a party on Saturday night. Wasn't to pleased with that!! Place did offere a somewhat continental breakfast which i wasn't expecting. Pastry selections were, I'm not kidding, all out of date. One I picked up was actually open on one end. Had bagels and bread for toast, but wasn't taking a chance if the prepackaged pastries were out dated. Offered milk, not individually packaged, in a open pitcher. Dried cereal and some fruit. Coffee and orange & apple juice. I passed on that offering. People I talked to seemed like nice people but it's an older motel and I'm sure the upkeep is quite a bit pricey. Unfortunately if I'm ever in the area again, I wouldn't stall here.

The location The room was not in good condition. Blackout curtain was hanging down on one side. Unable to close. Some type of dehumidifier was sticking out the window with the window partially open. One of the lamps was inoperable. The staff was unable to address these problems and offer another room or discount. The shuttle ride to and from the airport was $20 each way. Other than the location, I would not stay here again.

The property was pretty clean. The room set up was good. The front desk clerk was not friendly but not rude either. Did take awhile to get to counter to check us in. Was outside somewhere. Overall would stay again.

The bathroom definitely needs updating. We did not even want to shower in the tub that floor was cracked/ chipped.

Stay here often. Friendly staff, rooms maintained and clean and breakfast meets expectations.

When we arrived, the person at the front desk was having problems with the comouter checking in guests. We waited approximately an hour just to check in. Then, when we got in our room we saw that the bathtub finish was peeling off and the toilet handle was broken and the shower curtain was shredded and brown at the bottom. The sheets were dirty and the couch had a big nasty dirty spot on the seat area. The person at the front desk said that he would let his manager know but nothing was done about it.

Did not enjoy my stay. Would not recommend.
