I liked that I was able to check in early. I was in town for a funeral and check-in wasn't until 4 pm, but I called and explained my situation, and I was allowed to check-in early. The hotel smelled like horrible mildew. When we checked-in, our room smelled horrible, and I thought maybe the A/C would help. We left it running a few hours while we were out. When we returned, it still smelled horrible but it was now freezing. We turned on the heat, but it smelled like something was dead and burning. Aside from that, the breakfast was horrible. There were only 2 options, a carboard tasting waffle or stale bread. Literally only bread for breakfast.

I liked when we left. There was truly nothing positive about this location, amenities, or the experience. From the moment we walked into the hotel, we were assaulted with the stench of smoke and cigarettes. The hotel was dirty and dated. We encountered multiple soft spots in the floor— there were at least three soft spots in our room, and multiple as we traveled the hallway. The room had cobwebs in the corners, scratched up paint, and the curtains were shredded. The room REEKED of cigarettes. The stench was so strong that all of our packed clothes smelled of it after we left and traveled to our next location. Everything had to be laundered. The breakfast was nearly inedible. With a continental breakfast, you know what you’re getting. The expectations aren’t high, you aren’t expecting a 5 star meal. Despite the low expectations, we were still horribly disappointed. The eggs were rubbery, the hard boiled eggs had a weird taste and texture, sausages were burnt, yogurt was expired. The worst part of this stay was the room. We booked this hotel because it was advertised as offering cribs, which would be a necessity for our 1 year old. After booking, the hotel even confirmed that our request for a crib could be met. Upon arrival… no crib. Not that the cribs were all being used, but they do not even have cribs on site. We were at a complete loss of what to do. The room was disgusting, so we couldn’t even set up a floor bed.

Once inside you’re inundated with policy signs, including a demand that you eat your breakfast in the breakfast area. I like to grab mine and return to my room. But given the property condition, I wouldn’t eat a thing served there. Past the lobby there’s stained carpet & a dirty, slightly sketchy elevator. Enter the room, in a non-smoking property, that smells as if it were a smoking room yesterday. The floor in the entry/bathroom is full of loose floating tiles that shift when you walk. A look into the bathtub reveals hair still in the bottom (I have photos). Head to the bed area, the room is super narrow, to be expected near a large city. The desk, tiny. Bedside lamps don’t work because the plug on the wall with the wire running across the floor doesn’t function & when you try to plug anything in sinks completely into the wall. Find a stained, sunken in chair & mismatched ottoman in the corner. While the list of positives are short, they are important. The desk chair was comfortable. The mini fridge and microwave, clean and functional. And lastly, the sheets, bed & pillows are clean & comfortable, which is the only reason I stayed. The name Qulity Inn is false advertising.

This place needs to be cleaned from top to bottom. Stains in the sheets, you can see outside from the ac unit. We just stayed a night we just had a layover.

Slippery bathtub.

I was in Chicago for my brother-in-law memorial service. The smell was damp. needed more pillows. The bathroom needed brighter lights. Breakfast needed some meat.
