Holiday Inn Express Harrisburg I-81 – Hershey by IHG

Rooms could have been cleaner.

- bathtub was very slippery, no fan in the bathroom, sink was separate from toilet/shower area, ran out of clean towels, wish the pool was open later (9 am - 10 pm)

Staff were friendly. Check in and out process easy. Price reasonable (mostly) see below. Parking good Didn't have a chance to have breakfast. Not good: Noise from outside 5am Tuesday morning not sure what it was, banging or something very loud. However it was not cars or trucks from highway as stated on website. Ants in room (unacceptable) No rod in toilet paper holder Door did lock properly and hard to open door when locked No Do Not Disturb signs to hang on door Some of these items are minor and im sure didn't just occur when we got there, so should have been fixed prior to our checking in. The ants are not minor I saw 2 so didn't make a big deal of it as it was a short stay for my sons birthday. However after we left my son said he saw a few ants too. Would not go back.

Additionally, we had called ahead to let the hotel know that we would not be arriving until around 10pm, but when we arrived there was no one at the front desk. This made check-in a bit inconvenient after a long day of travel. Having someone available or providing clearer after-hours check-in instructions would have made the arrival process much smoother. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and appreciated the positives (nice breakfast!), but addressing these details would help create a more seamless guest experience.

Bathroom needed work- caulked, paint, Very dated. Ceiling patched and not repainted.

Nothing about it Everything room was soaked never offered another room a leaked everywhere hardly ever cleaned our room pool is tiny breakfast was horrible never j ad towels for our shower only once they refilled them

Great stay.

Strong stinky smell when we entered the reception. When asked, staff said it's from AC. Thank made me worried how we will stay there but to our luck our room was not stinky. Bathroom with mold and rot needs immediate renovation. Toilet sheet was not installed properly so it moved alot. AC controls was not functional. This hotel is not worth staying anymore. Spiders in the room. Probably they don't know what does CLEAN means. Only thing good was linen and towels. No coffee maker in the room. No more Holiday Inn in future. It has become one star hotel.

Bad odor on first floor. Room 123 VERY noisy due to elevator. Mattress in poor condition- heavily troughed. No cups in room. Overall cleanliness an issue. Cleanser residue heavy in tub. Way overpriced considering what received

They did offer help when i really need someone to talk with concerning my problems when i did talk with a person nothing got done.

We found underwear and a urine stain on the floor of the bathroom when we checked in. The front desk clerk tried to help by cleaning with limited tools. The next morning we were awakened by someone coming into our room which was needless to say scary. The person was from housekeeping I assume but they never announced that and just said sorry and left. We were supposed to stay there another night but it was bad enough that we had to move hotels

The room was ok but not as clean as expected. There was also some bugs in the breakfast area. The food was cold and not great. The floor in the entry way of the room was sticky. I cleaned it myself and noticed nothing seemed to be wiped at all. The bedside tables, the mirrors were dirty as well.

This was the single worst stay in a hotel I've ever had. We reserved two rooms a week ago for our family of seven. We arrived at the hotel at 8:30 pm, having been at Hershey Park all day, and we were ready for showers and bed. We got there and there were tons of people in the lobby. I went to the front desk and she said they had not expected the hotel to fill up and were not ready with our reservation. She kept saying it was all very unexpected. She asked if we could wait a few minutes, and I said okay. I asked if I could take the kids to swim in the pool for a little bit. She said that was fine, and she would come get us when our rooms were ready. Two hours later our rooms were ready, at 10:30 pm. After spending a full day at Hershey park, I entertained my five children for 2 hours in a very humid indoor pool (way over-chlorinated). All we wanted to do was shower and drop in bed. My kids started to melt down, and ask when they could go to bed. I went and checked several times during those 2 hours. Then when we finally got in the rooms, both rooms had hair in the bathtub stuck to the sides of the tub. It wasn't just one hair, but hair all over, short and long. Also, even with the shower curtain inside, it leaked all over the floor. The floors are made of a tile that gets very slick when wet, and I slipped several times. I put hand towels on the floor, but I couldn't put too many because they didn't have enough for the 4 of us. Single worst hotel experience ever. Stay away.

Worst place we have ever seen didn’t even stay after we seen are room. Checked out immediately and was still charges for 1 night when we didn’t stay.

My husband arrived at 8:30 at night after driving 14 hours. There was a couple in front of him whose room wasn’t clean and his room wasn’t clean as well. Only clean sheets were offered and no other cleaning services were available. The hotel refused to refund and my husband left to go find another hotel that was clean. After speaking with the owner and manager, they refused to refund the money even after explaining the situation. The owner actually yelled at me over the phone when I explained what happened. I would never stay here or any other Holiday Inn express for that matter.

Very good

Hotel was nice and clean. Staff was good and helpful. Rooms were clean. Cons: it would be helpful to have couple of trash bins in room, warm breakfast was not good for who are vegetarians or who eats eggs or chicken. I wish they had fresh boiled eggs also they should have one or two microwaves in breakfast area. And some vegetarian breakfast.

Hallways stunk, room stunk, sheets had stains, hair on sink, poor vacuuming so wore flip flops the whole time in room. Elevators inoperable!!

The hotel has gone down since last year. All the light bulbs are too bright. The in-room coffee maker is no longer available. The elevator did not work during our stay. The clerk was aggressively rude during check-in. The hallway smelled bad. The positive side is the air conditioning worked, and the morning staff were pleasant. I will not be returning to this hotel
