Quality Inn Harvey - New Orleans

This was a basic "we're still fixing the place" hotel. The water never got hot. The shower spigot was loose, the breakfast was gone before 7 am and it looked like a huge hassle asking for milk. They didn't know anything about bus lines even though they had a bus stop in front of their establishment. (So im sure they get asked alot). I went with 60$ on my birthday but they insisted 50$ was needed as a deposit. Even explaining the situation they forced me to part with 50. So I got to spend 10$. In a beautiful place because they had a policy. With everything, the ants, the showers, the lack of breakfast, I see why they needed the 50$. Which they did give back but I wasn't welcomed. All I got was ignored, made to wait without acknowledgement, almost treated hostility. I say this because the white people before me got smiles with actual customer service, and I got frowns and no eye contact.

Unfortunately, my second stay here was completely different from my first, and I will not be returning. The customer service was extremely disappointing. The front-desk receptionist I dealt with was rude, discourteous, and made me feel completely unwelcome. Basic hospitality and professionalism were seriously lacking. The rooms may photograph well online, but the bathrooms tell a very different story. They are outdated and, in my experience, not properly maintained. If you are offered Room 151, I strongly recommend asking to see it before accepting it. The bathtub was in such poor condition that I was shocked the room was being rented in that state. I also felt uncomfortable with the surroundings at night. There were people walking and loitering around throughout the night, and the area did not feel safe to me. My first stay was okay, which is why I returned. Unfortunately, my second stay was horrible enough that there will not be a third. Never ever again.

This hotel advertises a continental breakfast. What they provide does not qualify as any type of breakfast. Absolutely disgusting.

The room smelled very very musty.

Room smelled as if it’d been cleaned when we walked in but the shower curtain was filthy and tub/ shower combo looked as if you probably wouldn’t be too clean coming out of it. Ceilings were peeling and had holes. Latch lock was broken and not repaired or removed. There was only one small trash can in the room. I was truly afraid to lay in the bed because the room wasn’t truly cleaned. The top blanket (not sure if I can call it that because it was so thin) was dingy. Towels, toilet and sink contained someone else’s hair. Light switches were visibly dirty. The area and facility looked sketchy. People were sitting outside and hanging in the parking lot. The parking lot was flooded in the area where my room was.

Found blood stains on the sheets, cold water didn’t work in the shower , wouldn’t drain Have to go ask for fresh towels.

There was no Internet service in the room

Nothing it was terrible and we highly recommend staying as far away from here as possible it was disgustingly dirty there were people passed out on drugs on the stairs. It was truly a scary disgusting place

Sheets on bed were stained

Definitely a motel .. looks like their renting out the rooms to locals nearby as well .. pool was like a kids pool and filled with bugs .. some of the doors don’t fully close .. bugs may get in room , 2 lizards got into mine .. they make you pay a $50 deposit upon arrival - i see why it was cheap .. stained sheets/pillow case .. you will hear everything in the parking lot if loud . Definitely a place for something quick ..

Ac was broken in the first room and the ac barely worked in the second room . Did not stay the night and it was a waste of money. Manager wouldn’t give me a room even after showing him my receipt from payment, booking and confirmation number. Made me pay a second time and told me to resolve issue with booking party. Do not waste your time staying here.

The pool was also not open during our stay. The "free buffet breakfast" was more of a continental breakfast, and about three-quarters of the way through the breakfast hours, many of the items were gone, leaving little or nothing for other guests. I even saw a homeless man walking away with waffles one morning. Unfortunately, the man in charge of the breakfast area and general guest assistance was not very helpful. At one point, I found a lost child and brought him to the staff member, who simply shrugged it off. I ended up sitting with the child in the breakfast room until his parents came looking for him. Overall, while the room itself was good, the lack of basic amenities, the unavailable pool, the breakfast situation, and the poor response from staff made our stay less enjoyable than it could have been.
