Budget Inn Express Downtown Helena

Terrible! DO NOT stay at any cost. There was so much dust and AC wasn’t working well, we were sneezing all night and couldn’t sleep at all. There were flies in the room, I killed 2 and 1 escaped. We have never ever seen such a dirty room, felt suffocating and dirty. My wife had to take a tablet in the middle of the night and I had to rely on lozenges and melatonin and yet didn’t have a good sleep. I travel a lot especially for work and have to say this was the worst experience. My teenage daughter had the same sentiment. We are on a 8 night 9 day tour and this hotel was hands down the worst experience. Hard to believe there are some positive reviews and good for them. We would NOT recommend to anyone to stay there. We didn’t say anything to the manager but felt we should get our money back for such a bad experience. We are not the type to complain but most of our reviews we post are positive because it’s more important to share positive experiences. In this case we felt compelled because this is NOT a place you will have a good sleep and if you have allergies you are screwed. We were coughing and our throats felt irritated.

Comfy beds but needs a lot of taking care of.

Definitely an old hotel, the room was clean enough and put together well. It is in an amazing location for visiting downtown Helena.

This is an older building but is maintained fairly well. The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff was pleasant and very helpful. No coffee in room, but available in the office. For the cost it was four stars.

Beds were clean, room was run down but good enough for a nights stay

The room was clean, air conditioner was working, beds were soft and a few different options for pillows. Having laundry on site was nice. There was no noise from other rooms.

This place is well known, downtown, and well traveled. You get what you pay for. It is not the Ritz, but it was able to accommodate me at the last minute. Nothing fancy., basic, clean, and very friendly staff.

Budget is in the name and that's what you'll get. A budget friendly stay. Staff were great and location was good and it was clean

Desk staff was nice and helpful. The motel is centrally located in downtown Helena so lots of bars and restaurants within walking distance.

My only complaint was the coffee service was at 0700. The next time I stay in Helena I would love to stay here again. I have usually stayed right off the freeway and this is the first time I have ever, in 50 years, ever stayed downtown. The rooms were very nice and the front desk person was very helpful and friendly. There is a microwave so next time I will bring a package of instant coffee. Highly recommend staying here.

Older motel but clean & nice for the value, would stay again!

Great hotel in the downtown walking district. Very clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend if you are in Helena!

The rate was reasonable and the property was nice. They helped me plan an evening in Last Chance Gulch. A great location.

This spot although well worn was clean and right downtown. I parked my van full of equipment without any concern of theft. The staff assured me they'd be monitoring all night. It was lovely to get up and find local food and coffee. Would definitley stay here again!

It was very reasonably priced.

Good location. Affordable price. Room was not super clean. Only two pillows. However, we booked for location and price so it was fine.

I really have nothing to say above that this place was a place to sleep. The door on the room was rusting away. I kept thinking mice would come in under the gap thru the door. No coffee available in the AM. Next time I'm in Helena I will spend more and stay elsewhere.
