Aqua Aloha Surf Waikiki

Unfortunately, there was very little we liked about this property. This was by far the worst accommodation I have ever stayed in. The room was extremely dirty and there was mold in several places, including on the lampshade and underneath the glass table. We even found a clump of hair next to the supposedly clean towels. We asked several times to change rooms, but unfortunately, every room we were shown had similarly serious cleanliness issues. Overall, the hygiene standards were completely unacceptable and the experience was extremely disappointing.

It is well located and good environment

Had a wonderful experience here. 3 of us with a double and single bed. Check in was super easy and fast. They gave us shell leis. Smaller room but we only stayed one night. Nice balcony. Would have stayed longer but we only needed 1 night due to flight costs were crazy when we went and we saved a lot adding an extra day.

Great location and view from 12 floor was nice. The room needs some much-needed improvement. Especially the bathroom and shower. Looks like it's still stuck in the 1970. The sofa bed was very worn out and needs to be replaced. View was amazing, the little kitchenette was a bonus. Also, the room is a little small for 3 people. 2 perfect. Great staff

On checkout day, Kalei was helpful to extend our stay for a limited time because our flight was at 940 pm. The half day fee was taken from our deposit. This made it convenient for us to be comfortable in our room until about 600pm versus checing out at noon for a 940 pm flight. Truly appreciated. The complimentary water dispenser at the lobby is a big help.So useful.

I paid a resort fee to have the pool be closed and the cable be out. The night before check out the cable was back on. When we had questions, the older gentlemen that works the front desk during the evening is very dismissive and rude. The elevator kept breaking down putting only one in use. Also there were ants in the room. Definitely an older hotel. The houskeeping was the best part. The young man that works nights was very kind and helpful. This place is definitely a place to sleep and not hangout at.

Room was fine. Was clean and roomy. Only thing I wish was a better shower set up. It was just tough to balance the hot and cold for the shower since it uses 2 sets of knobs for hot and cold. Other than that, great stay and staff!

The room was clean and staff was very friendly. I wish they had a coffee bar for the mornings. Instead they had coffee in the room that you can make your own. Which is ok, but not interested in using the bathroom sink water to brew coffee. But other than that the stay was nice.

Rooms are very dated, think your grandmother’s wallpaper…literally. Housekeeping seems to do a decent job with what they have, but a seriously deep cleaning is desperately w. Pool was out of order for repairs my entire stay, and one of the two elevators was down part of the time. Staff and lobby and location were all good. My room was on the west side of the building, so very quiet.

If you must stay in Waikiki this is an ideal spot. Far enough away from the hustle and bustle but close stroll to the beach and everything else. Be aware that there is a resort fee associated that is not included in Expedia so your stay expense will be considerably more regardless. The pool was not working during our stay and we still had to pay the fee. However the staff are very helpful and they did take care of us when needed so no complaints. These fees are pretty much standard anywhere in Waikiki so with that in mind, this was an excellent and recommended stay.

Keycard issues: I went through many keycards because they would randomly stop working. Poor parking situation Paid for 7 days of parking, parking spots would often be full from non-residents parking in the garage with no management Rude and unhelpful customer servicethroughout the entire stay. Would call them to clean our room only for them to say the room was already clean even though it wasn’t. Room had a strange odor from the time I checked in. Shower water temperature changed randomly, making it difficult to shower comfortably. No response from the front desk when calling from the room phone. Microwave in the room did not work. Housekeeping was inadequate: Instead of properly cleaning the room, they would take all four towels and only replace them with two, and the room itself was not cleaned as expected. Also they would not take our trash cans or clean the floors

Location was great. Front desk Staff was friendly and helpful. Beach towels/ chairs were available at no cost which was super convenient. Location is fantastic. This place is run down. Think rusting light fixtures in the bathrooms, a plug sparked when we plugged in a phone charger, ripped wallpaper that’s badly patched, popcorn ceilings, walls that haven’t been washed in who knows how long. The ice bucket was dirty (with food residue) and had ants in it. (Front desk replaced it when we took it down -ice and water available only in lobby) We woke to ants crawling on us in bed. Not a ton, but not none either. The bathroom fixtures are from the 70s, the light would flicker in intensity-bright, then dim-and you could see the grout in the shower go from white up top where the water doesn’t hit to very dark and grimy where the water would reach. Enough that my family chose to shower in their sandals.

Not a clean hotel, bedroom was really run down. Curtains were torn and taped with duct tape. Fast find wrappers were still behind the side table from previous occupants. Main area , like lobby was clean. Towels were clean . Bathroom was very dirty and you could see new caulkings over old moldy ones. Carpet smelled so bad.

***If you are of the "healthier" size, upgrade your room, if you want to be comfortable. I'm 5' tall, 140# and my elbows would hit the walls of the shower when washing my hair. Rooms were clean. Pillows were like bricks. AC is old and loud, but runs well. Room was cold. Location was great. Within minutes of lots of shopping and restaurants. Best to make rsvns, if possible.
