The Surfjack Hotel & Swim Club

Very good

Everything about the Surfjack is chill. The staff are friendly, helpful and easygoing. The common areas are delightful-great pool, patio and covered sitting areas. The rooms are large, comfortable and well equipped. We have no complaints. Surfjack is our go to place when we pass through Honolulu.

Comfortable feeling there. Was hoping for better ease of access to parking, but it was 3 blocks away. Other than that the room was nice, got cleaned daily. Staff was very nice.

Location was great, just off Kuhio on Lewers, so finding food and shopping was very convenient. It was only a few blocks to the beach. I never located a soda vending machine, but there was an ABC Store on the corner, so not a big deal.

A clogged toilet issue was resolved in the early morning. Chad the front desk manager moved my family to another and better room. Thank you Chad!

Great friendly feeling. A little oasis. Clean as a whistle. The staff was so helpful . Wish we could have stayed longer. Great pool, lots of comfortable areas to sit and read. Nice bar and resturant area.

Staff was great after the big storm. Room was clean and spacious. Will stay again.

We got a free upgrade on our roomtype Good location Friendly staff In the first room we found cockroaches (we lost our trust in the cleanness of the accomodation at all) The overall impression was that the rooms are undermaintened

The location was central and the staff was very helpful The parking is 5 min walking, the place was smaller than expected.

The room I booked started having radiator/vent (?) issues on the second night and the buzzing was so loud that I couldn't sleep. The staff moved me to a different room. The second room had a bathroom with no counterspace so I had to store my toothbrush, sunscreen, other toiletries on the nightstand by the bed. The view was directly into the parking structure so I had to keep all curtains closed all the time. The shower never got actual hot water. Lukewarm at best. There is no coffee or tea in the room, only downstairs and only until 10 am. One of the days, I had to tell the front desk that someone's dog had taken a dump by the ground floor elevators. This is why I increasingly avoid pet friendly hotels - dog owners don't seem to train their dogs or take responsibility for them. Another guest could have accidentally stepped in that, rolled their luggage over it, etc. Also not something I want to see on vacation or be forced to deal with.

Shower - water pressure not good sometimes it cut off

I really enjoyed that each room had a separate room from the bedroom like a sitting room little living room room with balcony all the way through. We didn’t have a great of you, but we did require request a cheaper room which was fine so I’m assuming if you had a better room, your view would either be at the pool or the street view. The room was very clean. The maids cleaned up every day gave us fresh towels and remade our bed straight things up it was nice coming back to a clean room. The staff was very friendly the restroom the restaurant staff there was a gentleman there I can’t remember his name, but he was very helpful for breakfast very sweet and and you felt aloha from him. We use the pool the first day we didn’t use the pool the rest of the time it’s about a six minute seven minute walk to the beach. It’s not too bad that I would say that would probably be the only thing but I knew when I went there that I wasn’t staying right on the beach so I wasn’t that bad of walk. The whole lobby was the pool restaurant bar and some little coffee shop free coffee every morning and then they had a coffee shop that would give you like espresso a little bit more than just a basic cup of coffee. The food was good and decently priced for a hotel. I’d say one thing they need to do and all hotels they need to figure a lighting or somewhere to have lighting to do ladies makeup, but I see that on every hotel, if they had a full length mirror in the bedroom.
