Southbank Hotel by Marriott Jacksonville Riverwalk

This was the first room that the water did not get hot it stayed warm. it was room 212. Everything else was great as always.

Balcony. Breakfast was a debacle. Waited 10 min to be seated for a buffet, asked 3 times for coffee and never got it. A neighboring table Offered a pot of theirs to us but we didn’t even have cups. I then had to walk the restaurant to find someone to get us a check. $20/pp I would have expected better. Mentioned to front desk and thought maybe they’d comp us a free breakfast or Starbucks day 2 but nothing.

the hotel was great. I once lived in Jacksonville and was pleasantly surprised upon check in. The beautiful lobby exposing the elevator mechanics and structural supports gives an old elegant vibe that inspires. If the price remains the same I'll be staying here on my future stays in Jacksonville. nothing to complain about

clean, quiet everything was perfect

GREAT STAFF! Hotel seems to be getting ready to transition into another brand, but the parking lot is a mess. Very good restaurant. Nice gym and the location is prime.

Stay elsewhere until the property is renovated. Location was great but the hotel needs a major renovation. Empty lobby spaces, hotel bar not open, our room was damp with moisture… not good. Plus, the hotel fire alarm went off at 3am and there was no staff in the lobby to direct us or tell us when it was safe to return to our rooms. Then the fire alarm went off again a couple hours later. Will definitely not return until a renovation is completed.

Clean rooms , staff that we did interact with was nice - front desk, bar tender, hostess at breakfast- we did the buffet so didn’t really interact much with waitress… the room was clean - the shower head was little questionable- not mounted well to the wall, and it looked like it was falling out but it wasn’t leaking or anything like that…the room worked great for the night and was at a great location if you are going to an event near by

I thought the lobby was nice and open plenty of spots to sit around and relax if you weren’t in your room. Bar/ restaurant area looked nice, I just didn’t go to them on this trip. This place is quiet, as there are no major roads close by. The only weird thing was parking lot was multi use with valet and. A cruise boat using part of it. The one thing I didn’t like was having to go to a 3rd party to pay for parking, the hotel already has my card info, so I don’t care to have to give my card to yet another company just to part in a hotel’s lot.
