Southbank Hotel by Marriott Jacksonville Riverwalk

The carpet in the room was dirty, the TV would only show 3 channels and the exhaust fan in the bathroom didn't work.

I was given the wrong room at check in but the matter was later resolved.

There was a makeshift bar in restaurant Badly understaffed. Staff that was on hand tried hard to keep up Gym was in a temp room No towels, a/c not great Bed had large valley and uncomfortable Not a normal Marriott stay

The staff was friendly and helpful. Some could have been more helpful ( like telling us the hotel restaurant was to the left. Because the Other Closed in front for renovations. No Sign. So we ate elsewhere and many more people did too. We enjoyed our stay for the most part. And will return again. Hopefully since it was 95/103 you'd thought they'd have Free Lemon Water through out the Hotel. Especially by the Pool or Sodas n Chips Most hotels we have stayed at had water in the lobby, restaurant and by the pools area. With Free Parking/ Breakfast. I don't understand paying for parking if you are paying for a Room. And most have a Free Breakfast. But overall. Good Hotel. Large and right by the water and a walk or short drive every thing Yes they have a Bar and Restaurant.

Pretty lobby, very nice staff

The property was terrible! Not at all like the deceptive pictures, pitiful it was plastic everywhere dirt the rooms were so dated and smelled also. I requested a different room, and when I got to the different room, it smelt as if I was in a nursing home. So, I went back to the original room and dealt with it. I was in the military and living in the woods, I would’ve chosen first.

Place was awesome didn't have no problems

I was moved to three different rooms. This trip I had to pay for parking even though I have a handicap sticker. Was told at my checkout I could've used any handicap parking free.

Comfortable with a great location. Nothing

While the facility is under construction it was a great place to be. Staff were most accommodating and friendly to ask questions about the community. Definitely a place to stay.

When checking in, our room did not match what was advertised — our mattress was not on a bed frame, it was laying on an unswept, dirty carpeted floor. We even ended up finding half eaten candy in our bed upon arrival. We ended up changing rooms, although the staff was helpful, our stay was not up to par. Pool was closed, gym was not operable, bar not opened… the list goes on. We ended up getting knocks on our door before 11 am (checkout time) from people working on the hotel. They seemed to be painters? Not sure. Overall, not thrilled with our stay due to several amenities being unavailable and the uncleanliness of the property itself. Definitely not worth the price paid.

The property has been under renovations for over 6 months (unknown to me when i made the reservation). No turn down service in the 4 nights I was there (I asked twice). They were obviously short-staffed

We loved our bedroom. The beds are always soft, clean and comfortable. The rooms were very clean. The staff was really nice and polite. We really appreciated that. Overall we do love staying at the South Bank hotel. The property was under renovation and I think we should have got a discount because of that. The bathroom downstairs in the lobby wasn't working. I had to walk at least three hallways over to a room to use a bathroom. that a gentleman was sitting in the room for that talking on the phone while I was using the restroom. I was very uncomfortable. So at our time of stay the property did not meet our expectation because of all the construction that was going on.

Will stay again subsequent to renovation completion. Common areas were a little dingy and absent of air conditioning.

Don’t bother staying here until renovations are finished!
