Although the room itself appeared clean and nicely updated, the strong musty odor made for a rough night’s sleep and gave me a terrible headache. It’s unfortunate because the room was otherwise very nice, but the smell made it difficult to feel comfortable and enjoy our stay. I hope the hotel addresses the source of the odor, because this could have been a much more pleasant experience. The staff at check in was very nice. There appears to be a lot of construction going on around the grounds, which there is no mention of upon booking.

Wonderful experience!

They didn't have the room we booked, jr. Suite Oceanview. The offered us an "upgrade" to a cottage. The cottage was dark with little natural light and zero ocean view. After a 2 hour wait they found a downgraded room with an Oceanview and moved us to our Jr suite the next evening.

It was a lovely stay with a beautiful view of the ocean.

We were traveling with our family, including our 1-year-old baby, and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. As soon as we entered the room, there was a noticeable musty/mildew smell—the type of smell you would typically associate with a damp basement. The room itself also felt dated and could definitely use some attention and updating. Later that night, the air conditioning stopped working. I tried calling the front desk from the room phone, but the phone was not working. I then tried using my cell phone, but I couldn’t connect to the Wi-Fi and had little to no cell service. With no other way to reach anyone, I had to physically walk to the front desk in the middle of the night with our baby to ask for help. Unfortunately, I was told there wasn’t much that could be done at that time and that I would need to speak with a manager. When you’re traveling with a young child, having a room with a strong musty odor and then losing the A/C, phone and internet in the middle of the night is extremely frustrating. I did raise my concerns afterward, and Tiffany responded, apologized and offered a one-night Hilton Garden Inn certificate. I appreciate her acknowledging the experience and attempting to make it right. However, these are basic things that should be checked before a guest is given a room, particularly the condition and smell of the room, functioning A/C, phone and internet. Overall, the experience fell well belo

The facility itself could use a little more attention when it comes to cleanliness My biggest disappointment was the extra fees. Parking is $26 per day, there’s also a $26 daily resort fee, and breakfast costs an additional $29 per person . All of these extra charges really add up and make the stay much more expensive than expected. I also wish the bar stayed open later, as it closes at 9 PM. Overall, we had a good experience, especially because of the great breakfast, friendly staff, and convenient location near the beach. However, the additional fees and cleanliness could definitely be improved.

The location next to Lydgate Park was awesome! The front desk staff were kind, especially Curt who sang to us daily and made our trip extra fun. The room proximity to the pool, food at the tiki bar was pretty good and we enjoyed the complimentary water bottles each day, along with a filtered water system (although it wasn’t cold) next to our room. The hotel only makes up the room every 3 days of your stay and doesn’t wash the bedding. After days of being on the beach, the sheets start to feel dirty and do need to be changed. There is NO regulation of the pool area and we watched locals come up from the pool area and take it over with all their kids. The pool isn’t big enough to accommodate all the people, so plan to swim at the beach, especially on the weekends. The tiki bar was super cute but needed a good dusting/cleaning. I understand it’s on the ocean but everything needed a wipe down up in the lights, along the bar.

Difficult to get room cleaned and fresh towels. Laundry facilities were very sad, only 2 old machines in a tiny hot steamy room.

Everyone was so kind and helpful. The place was beautiful. The beach access is the best part. Super safe for kids to play and swim and great for snorkeling in calm water!

The cottage was amazing! My girlfriend and I enjoyed the extra space and the private parking space abutting our unit. The location of the Hilton is also a great selling point, as you have quick access to nearby towns including Lihue and Kapa’a. 10/10 stay would recommend

Surprisingly shabby property for Hilton. Renovations are underway, so perhaps things will improve soon.

The last day we found a roach. Breakfast was okay and staff very friendly .

Grateful for the upgrade. Pool access was easy and convent. Would highly recommend and will stay again for our next visit.

Check-in lady was not the friendliest. Kind of short with us for no reason. She seemed to assume we were going to make impossible requests and tried to cut me off. Ironically, we get how it works with afternoon check-ins. No big deal. Some rooms require stairs with no elevator. That is not obvious. Fortunately, bellman was there to assist. The hallways are dated and smell. Surprisingly, our room was clean and modern. We had a lower room so the room had an AC unit near the ceiling plus a dehumidifier on the floor. We found that odd. It was full by the end of first day. Not sure, if we are supposed to empty the water or wait. Booking through hotels.com voids any Hilton benefits. This includes free breakfast. The breakfast was expensive. Free coffee was a nice touch. The walk to the shops is over a mile. Wear shoes instead of flip flops. There is a nice sidewalk to get there though. Worth it as it is along the ocean.
