Motel 6 Katy, TX - Houston

The exterior looked far better than the interior. The interior, including the 3rd floor hallway, wreaked of urine and smoke. The room itself didn't smell of urine and smoke so that was a small relief. The bed did not have bed bugs, but my usual search for bed bugs (I do this at every hotel no matter what) revealed a mattress so old that it was probably original to the property. Staying here was a mistake.

From the moment I walked in, the property felt neglected. The staff ignored me while I was trying to check in, leaving me standing there without so much as an acknowledgment. That set the tone for the rest of my stay. The entire building is in terrible condition and desperately needs a complete renovation. It has a strong, unpleasant odor throughout, and the hallways constantly smelled like marijuana. The floors feel unsafe—I literally had a section of the floor nearly cave in under my foot, which was honestly frightening. At no point did I feel comfortable or secure walking around the property. The room was missing even basic amenities. There wasn’t a blow dryer, stained rags and towels, the Wi-Fi connection was so poor it was practically unusable, tv channels not working, and overall the property looked worn down and poorly maintained. This isn’t just a matter of being outdated—it’s a matter of safety and basic hospitality. The building feels like it’s been neglected for years. It needs major structural attention, new ownership or management willing to invest in the property, and a complete overhaul from top to bottom. I would not recommend staying here. Based on my experience, the condition of this property is alarming. It felt unsafe, unclean, and completely unacceptable. I won’t be returning. I literally had to go buy Lysol, Clorox air sanitizer, and bleach.

Beds were hard as a rock. Towels were musty. The whole place smelled like weed. Half of the electrical outlets in the room didn't work. The TV wouldn't turn off so it had to be unplugged. Multiple barking dogs and a lot of banging and noise from the neighbors. I never have a problem staying in budget motels but this one was by far the worst.

Front desk personnel was rude, not helpful and only one person at the front desk who did not know how to get my reservation on the computer, the motel was dirty, faucet was broken and it smelled really bad, its the worst place I've stayed at and will never step a foot in a motel 6 ever in my life, I will share my experience so people avoid having a bad time.

Room was clean. WiFi is awful, devices don’t stay connected. Near restaurants and gas stations

The location and price. It was dirty, old, couldn’t get comfy in the bed and the room was full of humidity. The floors are thin so you heard tons of banging and sliding of chairs and doors slamming.

I would say just skip this place

I called to get a refund and they refused and I told the guy I spoke with I don’t want a credit. I want a refund for part of what was paid. They only sent me a credit though. I don’t want that. I want you to start checking the hotels you are willing to book rooms with. Elevator was broken and the only rooms were all upstairs. They didn’t even have soap in the room. The bed on the metal frame wasn’t comfortable.

Location Just the overall aesthetics of the hotel. The staff were all so unfriendly. Greeted with an idc face.

The ac was already on when we arrived so it wasn’t hot.

No fridge No microwave

Nothing Room and building was disgusting, very dirty and smelled terrible. Room was supposed to be bon smoking but it wreaked of smoke. Not happy about this stay at all.
