Quality Inn Keystone near Mount Rushmore

Old hotel, old room. It had a terrible odor. What bothered us was you could open a sliding glass door and step into a little area overlooking Keystone downtown. However, to the right and to the left was a small type iron gate looking into the neighbors area. On both sides. It was totally open for three rooms. Very disturbing. If you left the slider unlocked, your neighbor would have access to your room.

We noticed the chair in our room was quite dirty and worn on the arms. It really needs to be replaced it looks terrible. Parking was a challenge. I understand that the building is backed up to a large rock so they a limited but there didn’t seem to be enough parking spots.

We decided to stay a few extra days so they took care of that and we were able to keep the same room. The location was perfect for a home base for all of our excursions.

Clean. Great location. Would definitely stay here again when visiting the Black Hills.

The hotel is located right in Keystone. There is a gas station and a few places to eat. The hotel is convenient and clean, though the rooms are small and do not have a view - they look at a rock wall. The breakfast is okay. Our room was near the indoor pool, which isn't closed off from the hallways but closes at 10pm.

Parking was tight. Staff was great.good breakfast. I think I was charged more than I signed up for.

Seems like a nice place many years ago but has been left to disrepair.

Rooms were pretty clean. Our shower wouldn’t work, told the gentleman at the desk and he came right away and got it working but the water wouldn’t shut all the way off. Parking isn’t good. It’s an alright hotel that’s reasonably priced.

Didn't realize that there was indoor rooms ( hotel) and outdoor rooms ( motel). We stayed in the outdoor room which was fine, but did end up getting woken up by some kind of dumpster noise. The room was fine just to sleep. Didn't have use of a fridge but wasn't a big deal. The shower I did have trouble shutting off so it ended dripping all night. Breakfast was available and had decent options. Overall a good place to stay. Clean and safe.

the location of the hotel is great, very close to everything in Keystone. The hotel seem a little old but well maintain; very friendly staff. I will definitely consider staying here again next time visiting Mount Rushmore and surrounding are.

On the expensive side for the hotelstar level. Very small bathroom and sink outside the bath which some may object to.

We rolled into town late, it was easy to reserve a room online and they were expecting us when we arrived. Room was clean and great for a quick night of sleep. Location is perfect being walkable to shop and restaurants. Breakfast was good - lots of options hot & cold. Overall this location works if you are looking for fancy.

Only problem was the WiFi. You had to enter the password every time you used your phone.

Good hotel overall. Helpful, friendly staff; decent, clean room; clean pool; standard buffet breakfast. No body wash, but had bar soap. Shampoo, conditioner, and lotion dispensers were all completely empty, had to call desk for refills. Staff was pretty quick to fix the issue and without complaint or feeling put out. Sink drained very slowly. Great location! Immediately in walking distance to several shops, restaurants, etc. along boardwalk.

Pool area needs an update

We travel all the time and usually things go smoothly. This was by far the worst check in we have ever experienced. It is hard to imagine what the clerk was doing as he sat and stared at the computer screen, but it couldn't have been filing in any registration software. It took almost 35 minutes for him to give us the key and then they didn't have a handicap room as we had booked. The room was fine, the bed was really comfortable and the location was fantastic, but the clerk? Who knows.
