The Queen Mary

It's lovely to stroll around the property at the Queen Mary, both the inside promenade and the outside decks. The Queen Mary is a gem of a property with historic old world charm and a gracious and caring staff. Well done Queen Mary Staff.

Emma checked us in. She is kind, efficient, and attentive to our needs as guests checking in. Moi, our bellman, is considerate and thoughtful in getting our luggage from our Uber driver to our Queen Mary guest room. The other members of the restaurant staff, Karen and Dado at the Promenade Cafe, Tommy and Tanida at the Observation Bar, and other attendants throughout the ship, are consistently helpful and kind. Well done Queen Mary Staff.

This property lacks toiletries and we found the towels to be very thin and cheap in our opinion. We think the service in the Promenade is not good and neither is the food. The Chelsea restaurant was disappointing to us. A very LOUD crowd at a banquet table - children screaming, etc., occurred throughout our entire dinner. The staff did nothing about it and we could not enjoy our dinner. We found the food OK, not great. Parking is $39/night and we did not know about this ahead of time. In our opinion, this property is NOT GOOD VALUE

The stateroom still had a lot of original features which we love old beautiful details. The rooms do not have temp controls. We explored the ship on our own, paid for 2 tours (and we highly recommend the Steam & Steel tour), plus did the Embarkation tour. Loads of history on the ship! There is nothing to do outside of the ship but there is a free shuttle in the parking lot that runs over to the Long Beach conference center.

However, it was definitely interesting to be able to hear through the walls so easily, since they are so thin. I do not recommend this hotel for a romantic getaway for this reason, unless you don’t mind for your neighbors to know all your business. We ate at the Promenade Cafe for Dinner and breakfast and both times the service was lacking and the food was mid. The view was great though and super convenient. Overall a great choice for a pre-cruise hotel as it shares the pier with Carnival and they will cart you over to the terminal with your luggage. So convenient!

Great experience. We stayed in the Queen Elizabeth suite and it was wonderful! We had breakfast at the restaurant and it was very nice. We would definitely stay here again if we ever take a cruise from LA in the future.

The historic utility and uniqueness of the Queen Mary is fabulous. Would have loved to stay longer, but travel plans did not allow. I will try for a return trip in the near future.

The Dark Harbor detracts from the overall experience. Parking and noise impacts are not something you can just ignore. The provided earplugs helped. We didn't get to use the shuttle to the parking, which was right in front of the hotel. It's too bad because we enjoy staying here before we go on a cruise. I may have to rethink where we stay in the future.

We really enjoyed the whole experience. Having said that the room was like an ice box and you do not have control of the heat. We thought we would freeze to death and had to go outside just to warm up.

The rooms were clean and spacious, needing a small updating. Restaurants and coffee shops should stay open until at least 11 on Friday & Saturday. Nice stay but not fabulous for the money.

We loved staying on The Queen Mary, was amazing to be amongst so much history and we loved exploring the ship and learning about her history, was a privilege to stay. The staff we lovely and very helpful, we got a tour as part of our stay as well which was much appreciated.
