Bayside Hotel

The toilet was leaking brown water, and staff members accused me of snooping. The beach chairs and equipment were old. Additionally, someone entered the room and took my new sweatpants and phone charger.

Cute quiet hotel close to beach.

Great location. Pleasant courtyard. Accommodating staff.

The bathroom was new and clean but the room was very worn down with hand prints all over the walls and stains on the sheets. When I went back to the desk the staff didn’t offer clean sheets or another room. We ended up leaving and getting a clean hotel and lost out on a couple hundred dollars since they would only refund the second and third night even tho we didn’t stay there

Staff was great and a great view of the beach

When I arrived, I stopped at the front desk and asked about parking. I was surprised to learn that the hotel had only a limited number of parking spaces and that the front desk employee was offering them to guests who were willing to pay more. I told her that this was not an appropriate way to manage parking and that the hotel should follow a clear policy, such as first come, first served. She simply replied, “This is our way.” It was too late to cancel my reservation, so I shortened my stay to one night and had to search for metered street parking for my car. In terms of safety, the hotel did not feel secure at all. Anyone from the street could easily access the guest-room areas, which could create serious safety concerns for residents. The room also had very poor sound insulation. I could easily hear people in the neighboring rooms and on the balconies. Overall, I had a very disappointing experience and would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The room was great the staff was great! They have things for you to use at the beach for free. And understandably they are a bit worn so choose carefully. I really enjoyed my stay. I'll definitely be visiting again

The hotel was perfectly casual and beachy! Lovely spots to chill outside the room and directly across from the beach!

The room was clean

Very clean and comfortable room with quiet surroundings despite being steps away from the beach. Shampoo, conditioner and body soap are provided in the shower, and there was also a full sized iron with ironing board.

Nice location, walking distance to the beach

Location is convenient.

You can't beat the hotel for its location and also its proximity to the beach. Every morning I was out from sun up enjoying the shore and all that Santa Monica has to offer. The desk and the cleaning staff are nice, too. Very professional. The room is comfortable, I wish the A/C had a remote rather than having to walk over to turn on/off the unit. The furniture is older, a little beaten up, but clean. The bathroom was very clean, except I did encounter a spider or two. But if you plan to spend most of your day outside and exploring the area and greater-LA, then this is a great place to stay.

Location and staff are great - hotel is a little older, and the 'garden view' was just the parking lot at the back. Staff made up for a lot. The garden was small not that they can do anything. The front office and gates need a refresh. Surprised there were no beach loungers or chairs or parasols available to rent. If you wanted to be on the beach you had to lie on a towel which we found odd.

Kitchen was great to have. The staff was very helpful and friendly!

And genaro in the lobby is the best

Santa Monica is not a nice place due to homeless and gangs.
