Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Lubbock South by IHG

Only stayed for 5 hours but place was great clean and safe place to stop.

The room and bathroom were very clean and neat. The breakfast choices were numerous; the ones I had were all delicious. Delicious coffee!!

No Towels and went to the front desk asked were is the Laundry Room and yelled at by the Manager.

We booked through Expedia and specifically requested a king bed, but upon arrival we were given a room with two queen beds. What made this more frustrating was that a king room was apparently available. When we brought up the issue, the staff seemed dismissive and not particularly interested in helping us. From the beginning, there was also a noticeable feces/sewage smell coming from the bathroom. Over the next few days, the odor became progressively worse until it was completely unbearable. It genuinely smelled like sewage and became so disgusting that I was gagging and could barely use the restroom. At that point, staying in the room no longer felt sanitary or comfortable. Because the phone in our room did not work properly, I had to use my personal phone to call the front desk about the worsening smell. Thankfully, they eventually moved us to another room downstairs. However, it should never have reached the point where the odor was so severe that we had to relocate rooms after spending several days dealing with it. The broken room phone was another major concern. Earlier in our stay, we attempted to call the front desk multiple times using it, but they could not hear us. We eventually had to physically go downstairs, where an employee admitted that they already knew the phone in that room did not work at all.

Only issue was the bed, way too soft for me. Tolerable for a night or two, but would book elsewhere for an extended stay.

The breakfast was good, the room was good, and the staff were friendly. They couldn't extend my stay by an extra day—I don't know why—and they didn't send me my receipt or refund my deposit. The bathroom was a bit dirty; there was trash in the corners, a hole in the wall, and no body soap.

Experience from entrance to end of visit was great. Room was clean. I am picky and always check beds n linens: Clean. Sleep was good.no noise. Breakfast hot food and variety was a warm welcome in early morning. We left a day early due to time constraints, would’ve stayed a day longer; just to rest. Staff was polite and welcoming. Will stay again.Thank you

Ground floor end-of-hall Exit Door had a hand-made sign that read “This door is out of Service”. Illegal! Breakfast staff member left her area unattended to go next door to LaQuinta to borrow a gallon of milk. While creative, it showed more unpreparedness. Ground floor carpet was terrible. Huge wrinkles the entire lengths of the halls indicated water damage - but worse: they are a trip hazard for Seniors. Could not recommend

Checking in was good but when I went to my room it had a strange smell then I went downstairs to my car and the alarm was going off for over 30 min the ice machine didn’t work on level 2. Upon check out I waited to hand the key to the girl who wasn’t working she was in the back chatting and when she finally came out she said you could of put it in there and I said yeah I know why can’t you take it? She was super rude and because of the things I came across I will NOT come back to this location and I travel a lot for work this will be a lot of money they will miss out on.

Nothing. The hotel was dirty and the staff was rude. We were given 2 different rooms both of which were not clean. One had pieces of glass on the floor. The second one had dirty carpet, towels, sheets and smelled horrible. Then after complaining about the 2nd dirty room the front desk lady yelled at us and the manager called the police and had us thrown out.

We only had a brief stay. All was well, but the carpeting throughout was uneven and on the 2nd floor, particularly, looked as if it had been somehow stretched out of shape, maybe water samage.

The room definitely wasn’t the cleanest at all, front seemed annoyed checking me in so I didn’t even care to ask to freshen it up. The best part was the pool was working. Breakfast was decent I enjoyed the variety.

Staff was very helpful and courteous. Breakfast was better than most I have had in the area.

Tile was broken in the bathroom. Old towels that were falling apart. Sink would back up. It’s run down from previous stays a few years ago.
