The point is Expedia sold this property as one thing and when confronted passed the buck along instead of correcting their mistake.

Breath of fresh air… outstanding customer service and wonderful hospitality with high quality linens and exceptional amenities. I want to come back here!

We always have a wonderful stay. The food on property is so so good! I need to leave u less you want to!

We stayed in room 880 over the July Fourth weekend. Great experience! The room looks out over the water and the plaza. The hotel had great entertainment (bands, water ski show, activities) and did an outstanding job with the organization and quality of everything.

Beautiful view. Large room. Excellent staff.

Food at both restaurants was wonderful. Service was top notch.

Our first room would not cool below 75–76°F. Maintenance arrived promptly and made every effort to resolve the issue, but when it became clear it wasn’t improving, we requested a room change, which the hotel accommodated after having to go through a couple levels of customer service. The second room cooled to about 74°F but had a toilet that ran loudly every 20 minutes or so. By then, it was late enough that the sun was no longer beating through the windows, making the temperature more tolerable. While I normally keep my home’s thermostat set around 74°F, a hotel room with little natural airflow felt noticeably warmer and more humid. We had originally planned to explore the city and have dinner out, but after dealing with the room issues, we decided to order room service and spend the evening relaxing instead. Thankfully, the beds were exceptionally comfortable, and the room service was delicious, which helped end the day on a positive note.

The hotel was beautiful. Amazing views of the lake. Wonderful breakfast. Would recommend to everyone I meet and know.
-
Gorgeous lake view king room. We will definitely be back. Everything was extremely clean and food was great!! Dog friendly as well!
-
My lake view room was large and the bed linens were nice however the room was very dark & outdated with odd mismatched furniture that was worn out. The outside of the windows was dirty, making it hard to enjoy the view. It just felt odd and old, but not in a charming and historic way. I was excited to stay here but it was a let down, esp for the money.

Did not know about a fee for parking until time of checkout.
-
Excellent location. Rooms had a fantastic view of both lake and capitol building. Getting long on the tooth. Needs an updating.
-
Only issue I had with this hotel was the hot tub didn’t work. Otherwise. Was great. Really clean and homely.

This is where you stay in Madison. I’ve been staying here since 2015 and it’s a steal.
-
The views of the lake from our room were gorgeous! With multiple options for dining on the property we never had to leave. Perfect romantic getaway 10/10.
-
We used to come here all of the time in the 90s!!! Loved it then. Love all of the restorations, changes, etc. Loved it now.
-
Whilst the staff were great, the State House restaurant wasn't very good.
