Located on the shores of Lake Mendota in Madison, this hotel offers a spa and wellness center along with 3 on-site restaurants. University of Wisconsin-Madison is 2789 feet away. A flat-screen TV and iPod dock are featured in all rooms at The Edgewater. All rooms also include a tile/marble floor, refrigerator, and a view. Select rooms have a sofa, spa bath, and kitchenette. At the Madison Edgewater you will find a fitness center and meeting facilities. The on-site plaza includes a seasonal ice skating rink and lush gardens. The fine dining Statehouse offers regionally sourced cuisine with an extensive wine list. The casual dining Icehouse and Boathouse offer pub fare, a great local brew selection, and views of Lake Mendota. The Madison Area Technical College and Overture Center For the Arts are both 1640 feet from the hotel. Camp Randall Stadium is 7 minutes’ drive away. Registered guests are responsible for the full repair and replacement costs of damages to the property of the hotel, and for extraordinary cleaning costs if required. This is above and beyond any other fees, including pet fees. Smoking is not permitted in rooms or public areas and will result $300 fine. Registered guests or their visitors who exhibit disruptive behaviors may be ejected from the hotel without refund. The hotel may also fine guests in the amount of compensation given to other third parties resulting from those disruptive behaviors. All guests in rooms shall be registered with the hotel. Occupancy shall not exceed fire code. People violating will be subject to ejection without a refund.

Clean, stylish, great service and location

This elegant hotel has beautiful lake front view. Its location is conveniently walking distance to both downtown Capital and UW-Madison campus. The hotel room is very clean and comfortable. The hotel has two buildings, the main hotel building “Wisconsin building” and the adjacent Boathouse “Landon building”. Must request your room in the “Wisconsin Building” in your reservation!

A stay at the Edgewater is always a pleasure, but service in Augies has been disappointing. Disappointing enough to stay at a different hotel. This year was amazingly different. We knew within the first 5 minutes something had changed, and we did see bar staff from last year still worked there. We were greeted with a smile the minute we sat down, the service was fast and friendly and the staff seemed to enjoy being there. They greeted everyone cheerfully and offered recommendations, they were polite and friendly. Great job to everyone on the Augie’s team. We will be back.

We had a room with a view in the "new" tower. It was lovely to listen to the lake while watching boats come and go. The room was adequate. The bathroom was nice. Huge shower. We had dinner at the Boat House - the restaurant on the water downstairs in the "old" tower. It was ok. Just pub-style food. It was busy as we were there at sunset and the waitstaff was really running to keep up. But our meal was decent and the service was pleasant. The restaurant includes boat up access and the folks walking through the deck seating made the restaurant a kind of thoroughfare which wasn't ideal. Would love to try the steakhouse next time.

The communication with the shuttle staff isn't ideal. One person says one thing while the next person says something completely different. I waited at the airport for 30 minutes until I finally had to take a Lyft. The cost was reimbursed but it was still very much an inconvenience.
