Not the best gym, but great room with Lake view, short walk to Capital. Got comped free parking. Would stay here again.

One of my all-time favorite hotels, will be back!

Right on lake Mendota. Very nice and clean.

We would have appreciated informational materials in the room regarding instructions for the television, hotel restaurant menus, area attractions. Some hotel info was available online. The man at check-in was a little on the snooty side but the staff person who came to fix the tv was professional, prompt, and persistent in solving the problem.

It would be very easy to make the hotel more user friendly. The valet service was excellent. Some desk staff were unhelpful. The restaurants service, food and waiters were excellent. The hotel is in a lovely location on the lake and easy walking to downtown, the capital and museums.

Very beautiful property. Bed was so comfortable, room space comfortable with a nice view of the lake.

    1) figuring how to pay for kid for Sunday brunch took 4 days. Nobody knew the answer. 2) Sunday brunch 11-1pm finished at 12:30pm when service left without notifying. Nobody showed up. 3) We forgot an item on table after brunch. Somebody cleaned, but nobody knew the contact person. Nobody reached back. In few days the answer was "sorry, nothing was found" 4) Same for item left in the room after checkout. We were asked to open report for "lost and found". Spent 1 week calling daily trying to chase that manager who never called back. Put lots of effort. The answer was "sorry, nothing was found" 5) On 1st day of stay reported batteries not working in the room scale. Never replaced. 6) Have to chase security deposit return, it didn't come back automatically 7) Used SPA services but could not apply hotel+Expedia coupon. Nobody reached back to explain why. I have this email unanswered. 8) Booked table for Birthday. Server didn't suggest free cake which is a regular practice. Had to ask myself through other server. All felt weird. But tips were taken as max. 8) Restaurant checks have tip suggestions with tax included. Making everyone think you are not leaving enough tip even whet it is a good one. --- Not related to service: Rooms have outdated carpet, furniture, mirror with broken TV screen in the middle of bathroom mirror. For 4* hotel it's not expected.

A beautiful location, luxurious rooms and stuning bar and restaurant. Th view of the lake doesn't hurt, either. Thy gym was way too cold and lacking in serious fitness equipment.

This is one of my favorite hotels, have stayed many times and already looking forward to my next visit! Special shout-out to Greg with Security staff, who couldn’t have been kinder. The addition of vending machines for after room service is closed would be great.

My room smelled like wet dog and was messing with my allergies. Not sure if someone had a dog in the room or not. Could be a cool spot. Management never reached out.

Great view, location and food, but honestly, overrated. I visit Madison frequently and have dined at the Edgewater but stay elsewhere. Where I stay is a similar price point. We stayed at Edgewater because it was the 4th weekend and it made sense to be on the Water for the holiday. The view and location didn't disappoint. The hospitality did. It could have been anywhere USA. The staff lacked it's warm, friendly, can do, midwestern kindness. Especially as it's the high-end hotel that should cater to guests, we received a "no" or were questioned about our inquiries at every turn. My impression is it's not staffed by Midwesterners. The attitude was real. In addition, the lock on the door between the rooms didn't bolt and dirty room service dishes were left in the elevator areas for days. Overall, it just didn't match the hype. I'm going back to my other hotel where I also have a lake view but it comes with that Midwestern kindness and hospitality so unique to the region.

Great location, right on the Lake

Great views, great food, great spot.

From check in to the bar, the staff treated us as if we were an inconvenience. Far too expensive to pay for a room and not have the luxury experience

Great place on the lake in madison. My new favorite madison hotel

Staff was very helpful, even when we didn't check in until 1:00am. Beautiful setting. Car service a lifesaver.

The 2 queen first floor lake view room was clean. Would not recommend this room type as it’s directly on the walking path at ground level. Room/ bath was outdated and air was moist, 2 holes in duvet cover. Surprised there was a “resort fee” at check out as this hotel has no amenities but a spa which you pay to use and a common area pier. Self park is $32 and they say you can come and go as you please- thanks a lot! The bar is also outdated. This hotel needs a facelift and it’s only been 14 years since the last one. Will say the pier is lovely! Go there for a drink but rest your head elsewhere..

The property location is lovely, but for being a four diamond resort I was underwhelmed. The AC was insufficient and as such I had two sleepless nights. The hallways are dingy and dated.
