On the bench outside the main entrance, what looked like 2 crackheads sat and stared into the distance. Upon opening the door to room 401, we were greeting by a waft of the distinct odor of stale cigarettes and deodorizer into our faces. This place reeked of class. IHG should be proud of this shining jewel. Closing the door behing us, a plaque on the inside for the door to the room read: "100% Smoke-Free Hotel". That was a relief. After a long day of being up since 4am, driving 225 miles and being in the heat and sun during family 4th of July events, we were desperate to shower and cool off in clean bedding and air conditioning. That was the my only complaint (aside from the usual i.e. poor water pressure in the shower, etc), until at 10pm when the fire alarm went off, ripping us from our rest. A quick call to the front desk got me nowhere, as a busy signal promptly let me know that wasn't happening. We heard pounding on the door to the room beside us, and I look into the hall to see a haze and feel warm air and a few other guests looking bewildered. We gathered our belongings in a flash, took the nearest stairs, and were greeted with a locked 1st floor door. We pushed the the emergency door. Outside (ohh...I forgot to mention the surprise $5 parking fee), I made sure I had everything. No firetruck were present when the alarm suddenly stopped. We weren't staying. Front desk said no refunds as it was a false alarm.

We were here for a very brief stay. Nice hotel. Good location. Didn't get to eat at Airport Diner next door, but have in the past and the food is good. The air conditioning in the room was a nice escape from the heat and the bed was clean and comfortable. The rooms are starting to look a bit outdated and it's likely the cleaning staff forgot to vacuum (there was a big pile of dried mud on the carpet as we entered the room), but it was a comfortable stay.

Being onsite for an early morning flight. Booking.com which has influenced this review rather than Holiday Inn. I booked Manchester Airport holiday Inn which was confirmed in big letters - then in small letters it was an address in USA. The hotel could not offer support in changing the booking because it had been booked by a 3rd party and just said "you are not the only one this has happened to" and that I should complain to Booking.com but they were impossible to speak to on the night. A very stressful start to the holiday and I had to pay for another room as I was stranded at Manchester Airport with a 9 year old. I have sent numerous emails/complaints to booking.com with no satisfactory outcome. My advise is stay here if you have an early morning flight and want to be on site , it's very convenient, but DONT BOOK VIA BOOKING.COM go direct to the hotel.

This hotel needs to have a different name as there is another Holiday Inn Manchester airport in the UK. I booked the wrong one and apparently it happens a lot! They didn’t reply to me regarding a refund. Terrible customer service.

Location was great for what we needed to do in the city. None

The location and the room were spacies. The bar that holds the towel fell off and hit my big toe and made a bleeding gash in it. Also we had to download the channels on the TV in order to watch it and no one could help us, because they didn't know what to do.

Size of room. Nice bed The TV. Also I had to pay five dollars to pay to park my car in a hotel I just payed to stay at. That is unacceptable!!!!
-
Great location, near the downtown area close to the arena. Enjoyed my stay. Breakfast wasn’t included, there’s a diner connected which is where you dine and have breakfast.
-
The customer service and there ability to accommodate an early check in. They won me over for sure

Staff made sure that even though the agent mixed up our reservation ( needed walk in tub) we felt welcome, very considerate & got a discount. We were so tired from traveling -75+ couple - and they also had an excellent diner at the location. Ate all our meals there- fresh food & kind people.
