Baymont by Wyndham Merrillville

The room was moldy and smokey, by girlfriend started coughing upon entry. First hotel that I had to change my bedsheets upon arriving. Carpet and furniture were damaged and unclean. Had to checkout after first night on a three night stay felt hotel was unsafe.

There’s absolutely nothing I can compliment about this property. It was flat out disgusting. From ripped curtains, to what appeared to be blood spatter, that was then poorly cleaned, white substances around the edge of the bed, tile flooring in the bathroom cracked, without grout, not cleaned, still had trash from the last person. You got 3 pillows for 2 beds, a sheet, with a thin brown blanket that was covered with another flat sheet. Mattress covers ripped, mattress skirts had holes and questionable substances on it as well. Couch- literally broken and sticking straight up in the air with two cushions on top. Chairs had literally seen better days. I tried to plug in my phone charger, it literally fell out of the wall. Door wouldn’t shut on its own, you had to force it shut. Toilet paper sticking out of the air conditioner…… This was literally the most disgusting room I’ve ever seen. On top of everything else, room wasn’t ready until after 5:30, zero compensation for that or shape of the room, much less even trying to find a replacement room, which I’m sure they all resemble the 2 rooms that were booked by our party. The food for breakfast looked like it had seen several days on a buffet table… if I could give negative stars I would. Please save your money and your sanity. As you will not sleep in this hotel, the beds, hard and lumpy….. just don’t…

This hotel is falling apart, dirty, bathroom and ac had mould, furniture is peeled and stained, breakfast was terrible with very little choices. Floor on the third floor, next to the elevator is soft.

Bed sides covered in mold and blood/urine I couldn’t tell. Room was musty and not as advertised online. Bathroom full of mold. Staff continues saying to speak to a manager for a refund but the time of their arrival continues to change.

The room was very dirty and infested with bed bugs and the staff would do nothing to accommodate or help us. They were very rude and now I'm stuck fighting to get a refund from them. They gave us a room with one king size bed for 5 people?! Would not recommend.

Worst experience ever!!! The room looked like someone got shot and blood everywhere...curtains, floor...I thought my tub was black it was so dirty...I could go on and on...it was HORRIBLE!!!

I will never stay there again.

There were no towels in the room. I called the desk. They brought 3 bath towels nothing else. There was French fries on the floor in the room. Breakfast was very poor.

Upon arrival which was about 7 p room for 5 but only towels for 2 you can never reach front desk even when going to see them breakfast was dry I’ve never been to such a horrible baymont please never recommend them to me again I was visting for funeral and it was a terrible stay.

The property was fair.

We moved to 3 separate rooms in one night. The first room riddled with smoke although a non-smoking room. The second room did not have a working air conditioner. The third room was not clean and far from appealing as it had no clean towels...the only one available was used by a previous guest. Wall artwork had been ripped away leaving torn plaster. My husband was unable to locate another hotel at 12:30 am . So, we slept in our clothes on top of bedding. Mad at Merriville, Indiana site!!!

If you don't pay when you book, they cancel your reservation. The lady at the front desk told me my reservation got cancelled because "I didn't pay when I booked. It's 1st come 1st serve."

If there are other options go there...this place was ran down and not clean... the only good thing was the cost.

Staff horrible. Coffee gross and old. Black sludge. We had four people and they refused to provide more than two towels. Pool was closed first day.

This place was gross and dirty, I didn’t want to walk without my sandals on, bought a blanket to put down, only stayed long enough to sleep and leave asap!

No shampoo, bathroom had peeling paint and a used washcloth from previous guest. Beds were clean and comfortable . Staff was very patient with a redneck moron trying t o turn the pool into a community room.

Smelled like an old ashtray, coffee maker missing parts, desk chair had pleather rubbed off down to fabric, rust stains in bathroom and bleach stains on hallway carpeting, which is so old it is loose. A barking dog was the last straw. I literally left at 4am.

Front Desk lady was extremely rude i never was able to check in with my family. she canceled my reservation because i was bringing my service dog. she was yelling on the phone before i even met her in person.
