TRU by Hilton Miami Airport South Blue Lagoon, FL

Aside from the sleazy barman, the only thing I really didn't like is the absence of a secure storage room for early arrivals / late departures. This is the first hotel I've ever been to that cannot securely store your luggage. People arriving early had no choice but to leave their luggage in the lobby unattended for anyone to take, or sit with their luggage for hours waiting for a vacant room. Hard to believe a hotel wouldn't be set up to secure luggage for arriving guests.

Clean, quiet, good breakfast. Easy to find.

Everything was wonderful. The customer service was awesome. The complimentary breakfast was very good. There were lots to choose from. This was a great stay.

Very close to the airport. Also close to a Panda Express, Chipotle and Starbucks. I did not try the breakfast nor the restaurant. It does not open until 5pm. AC unit in shuttle worked well. Driver friendly once he showed up. I could not shut off the AC unit, so it was blowing cold air all night and was loud. So, I raised the temp a bit but then the whole floor started sweating. The floor of the room was not clean, it was full of dust bunnies. Hair dryer did not work in the bathroom plug despite me trying to reset the breaker. The shower was a tiny stream for a State that has plenty of water to spare. Staff response time to resolve issues was lagging. The shuttle service did not arrive at 30 min intervals as advertised.

Place has great location but fire alarm went off and we had to leave our rooms at night. Stayed on first floor by request and it was very noisy

My biggest complaint was the floor in the room was vinyl or laminate instead of carpet which meant I heard almost every footstep people in the room above me. The thermostat on the wall also didn’t work and the temp was set to 62 and it took about 20 minutes to figure out I had to adjust the temp on the wall AC unit itself instead of the thermostat. The dining room was nice besides the fact that they used styrofoam plates instead of actual plates. The food was good and a decent selection. All that being said I would still stay here again as it was close to the airport and port Miami.
