Just okay

Spacious clean rooms . Quiet and conveniently located to downtown Newport. The kids enjoyed the pool and hot tub.

Parking was a huge plus. Staff were pleasant. Hotel was very clean. No issues whatsoever I’d definitely stay here again!

I guess you get what you pay for. We were given a room that had a foul odor. Kinda smelled like cigarettes, but not sure. They had no issue giving us another room, and while better, it still had an odor. By the next morning, we could all detect the odor of urine. It is a pet-friendly hotel, so perhaps it was from an animal. Shower was not in good shape as the drain was rusty. The ceiling of the room had all kinds of yellow staining. Lamp and furniture also had stains. Chair had a bad odor. The cabinets were in pretty rough shape with the doors and drawers struggling to stay closed. The AC was pretty noisy and rattled. Did not really take advantage of any of the amenities, but could hear one of the cardio machines making noises it shouldn't when I walked past the "gym." Wife tried to use the ice machine, but it only gave her less than a handful of mostly melted ice. Not sure I'd use the Sonesta brand again.

Staff were very helpful when checking me in. Offered information of amenities. And found rooms better than expected.

The staff were very helpful and quick to help. The lobby was clean and nice but the rooms were less than ideal. We had two rooms - both smelled musty. There was what looked like mold on the bathroom ceiling and the finish on the tub was peeling off. Not worth half the price we paid for the night.

Hotel was very nice

We love the location of the hotel it is close proximity to most tourist spots. The room was clean we did notice an odor to the room it was redefined with some room deodorizer.

The staff was friendly enough and the lobby looked and smelled clean. The room, however, wasn't up to the same standard. There was chipped and falling paint paint from the ceiling in the corner by the AC. The shower had rust stains on the floor and walls. The toilet seat was loose too. We didn't bother changing rooms because it was late, and we stayed over for only one night. The pool was great, and the proximity to stores and food are a plus. I rate the stay a 3/5. A better room would have made the stay 4/5.

The room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The location was perfect being so close to Newport. The price was also quite reasonable for a summer stay. Would definitely stay here again!

The only downside was the check-in experience. The front desk associate could use some additional hospitality training. He avoided eye contact and was on his personal phone having a conversation, which made me feel like I was interrupting him just to check in. He also spoke very quietly, so I had to ask him to repeat himself a couple of times. Later that evening, when I went to the front desk to get a couple of bottles of water, I had a similar experience. On the other hand, the woman working the front desk when I checked out was the complete opposite. She greeted me with a smile, said good morning, and was warm, friendly, and welcoming. The difference in customer service between the two employees was like night and day.

I don’t recommend this place

Before I forget, the trash wasn’t picked up as well… for 3 consecutive days!

Staff was very nice and experience was overall okay. Rooms floors were greasy. Staff was hard to get a hold of for towels and sheets. Bar was odd and breakfast was ok. iPad in room for ordering food was not usable and food sucked.
