Clean room

It’s clean but more a nice motel than four star hotel

Oh and another perk, if you like dogs that is, is just how many of them i got to see! Since the place is pet friendly there were plenty of people walking some very sweet pups and everyone was respectful of the leash rules and tidying up after their pets. All in all I would definitely recommend this place and hope to stay here again~

Very cute hotel with a Spanish motif in Monterey. Very close to the wharf and Cannery Row. Room was clean and spacious. TV was non-responsive unless you were streaming from your phone or laptop. Parking and water pressure were terrible. Had a fireplace in the room, which was a nice touch. $17 for parking is kind of ridiculous given how cramped the lot is.

Everything was good Room was very small for two people.

Location (walking distance to everywhere), beautiful furniture, granite countertops, room design. Rooms near pool susceptible to noisy pool behavior.

Enough said, hope they note these less than acceptable room or discount them severely.

I chose a Deluxe King room; my bed was comfortable and it was great to have the balcony and fireplace. Parking in the hotel is affordable and convenient—you may not always be able to park right in front of your room, but that was not an issue. Thank you for a wonderful stay! I feel like the inside of Esteban could use a facelift—it was very generic looking.

Rooms are dated but clean. Good size rooms (king bed room) and the shower had great pressure. Staff is friendly and helpful. The parking is not assigned but there seemed to be plenty for guests. Nice proximity to some good cafes and a grocery store. Only a short walk to the bus stop where you can catch the free trolly bus that runs during the summer. Some light would come in through the door frame and window shutters in the morning which could be easily fixed by the hotel if they wanted to. I knew there wasn't a microwave in the room but with the cost of food in Monterey I somewhat regretted not booking a room with one. I don't hold this against the hotel but a heads up for future guests making their decisions.

Was given a room that was not the same as pictured. It was .such smaller and not as nice. It also had a musty smell. When checking out, I was not asked how my stay was.

Beds are extremely comfortable. Windows actually open so you can get fresh air. The location. Was ideal for walking to town, about 3-4 blocks, and the wharf area and our favorite beach is only 6-8 blocks. Denny’s is across the street for budget-friendly breakfast. We recommend Paris bakery and coffee, not cheap but delish baked items. Hotel is extremely dog friendly!! I used the hose by the pool to rinse sand off my dog. Had to pay an additional $17/night for parking, especially given the cost of the room, even with my booking discount.
