I didn't enjoy the breakfast. No warm food. Basically, to me the breakfast was cold.

Room was in great condition and location was within easy walking distance to downtown.

The room was large and comfortable. Continental breakfast was good... decent coffee, tea, instant oatmeal, cold cereal, hard boiled eggs, juice, milk. Great location next to the library and only a short 5 minute walk to the main street and down to the ocean. Lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance.

Horrible place. The most rude, disrespectful and hate filled staff. Avoid this place. There's a reason for all of the reviews about the front desk people at this hotel. This is my first review of a hotel on this site. This is how bad the experience was.

This hotel has a good location in old downtown and within walking distance to the wharf and cannery row. Nice comfortable accommodations with easy and free parking. The price is right for Monterey.

This place was the best ever, staff kind sweet.. I will not go anywhere else this place is the best.. if you don’t believe me try once for yourself you won’t be disappointed..

Such a lovely spot. Breakfast has plenty of choices and staff was a delight. Super convenient to walk to old town Monterey, canary row, old fisherman’s warf and even a few different beaches. 10/10 recommend staying here!

This is a Motel not a hotel style! Room was clean and neat. Front desk staff: pm staff -can use some professional training to show more friendliness to customers and go an extra mile when possible; AM staff was great and helpful. Breakfast was poor - no meat options except gravy, boiled eggs, cereal, oatmeal, toasts, croissants and cream cheese and apples. I’ll give an overall 4/5 stars for a Motel Style.

What a hidden gem and just a few blocks from the free trolley and the wharf. Super peaceful location with an off the beaten path feel from the tourist corridor. Excellent location with access to a ton of local restaurants and attractions. Well kept property.

Great facility in a residential neighborhood. Wonderful breakfast and a working elevator for second and third floor. Only drawback was no flexibility for early check in or cancellations.

Hi, I was attempting to get credit as I had to miss the date of my scheduled two-day stay. But the policy was to return to the third party (Hotel.com), and it was suggested to see if I could use the credit to stay another time. I did miss the deadline for canceling, so I am not asking for any sympathy. But things do come up, and changing the dates could be a bit more accommodating. I know you can change the date if you add an additional fee, but still. Next time I will pay attention to the cancel date, and hopefully nothing changes on my end after the date has passed. I had a personal matter to deal with.

Front desk was very courteous, helpful, & polite. Inn was very close to downtown. Room was very clean. Available free parking.

The location was another big plus—it's only about a 15-minute walk to the wharf, making it convenient without being right in the middle of the crowds. If you're looking for a comfortable, charming place to stay with great service and an excellent location, I would definitely recommend the Colton Inn.

I will recommend anyone wanting to visit Monterey, CA to stay here at Colton inn! Hotel near a lot of shops, restaurants and stores at a walking distance. Also everything at a driving distance of a hour like to Santa Cruz. All staff like Kristen and Allen are the best very helpful in everything you ask or need! Thank you Colton inn!
