Merritt House Hotel

The location of the hotel was nice and quiet. In the night it was a bit cold so I was going to use the extra blanket that is available with an extra pillow that’s located in the closet. When I got it you can clearly see long strands of hair inside. So I didn’t open it and just left the bag on the floor. When I checked out I was asked how my stay was and said fine other than the blanket and mentioned I had left it on the floor so they didn’t think it was clean and they can attend to it. When I pre checked in I was asked if I wanted to add parking for $20.00 and said yes. When I got home and saw that I was charged $25.00 I assumed it was for the parking so I called just say that I had requested the parking before when pre check and said it said $20. Fee. Receptionist said they had change their fee to $25.00 I asked wouldn’t you honor the $20.00 That I had agreed on? How else would I know it was 20. Less than a couple of days.

location easy walk to restaurants and Old Fisherman’s Wharf, parking on site was appreciated, we enjoyed the open fire to take the chill of at night, and the highlight was the breakfast.

Love the property, location, room. Free breakfast was really good, icing on the cake.

The Inn is really chic- the rooms are interesring and the fireplace is a nice touch; the property is very clean, very good breakfast- close to restaurants, bars, downtown, beaches; the staff was very helpfull- overall, I truly recommend

I sent an email to the hotel before, but it feels like it made no difference at all. Apparently no one read it or paid attention to it. I’m really disappointed.

The film was amazing really nice. Wish there world have been wood in the room for the fireplace.

I loved the fire place and how the room door opened into the patio. Very beautiful! Although the shower was gorgeous, we did not like the water pressure in the shower. The pressure was lite. Also, the handicapped parking was situated in the middle of the entrance and exit of the property and was inconvenient. We were also given the wrong time for breakfast. Overall, we give this place 3.5 stars out of 5.

Breakfast - I didn’t realise that it is rare to have breakfast included in the room price in the USA. I met the proprietor who told me how she had remodelled the building and designed each room - she was lovely too. The picture advertising is slightly misleading, as this is one part of the hotel - not the entrance, but I think probably the best rooms.

The room we stayed in was perfect for us. The parking is a bit tight for larger cars but there was plenty of room for parking. Room was kept very clean and provides additional amenities that normal hotels don’t. Breakfast in the morning was very simple and effective for to-go food before a day out on the town. A very charming location and will definitely come back again!

We liked our room very much, staff was always helpful an friendly, Breakfast was great, parking is good and we loved that we could walk to just about everywhere and also used the Trolly, to go to Cannery Row. Thank u for a great stay. Estelle and Ruben Galvan

Clean rooms, helpful staff

Beds are super hard. Someone lit a fire on property and I woke up at 2am to a smoke smelling room. It was really strong to the point I couldn’t go back to sleep.

Beautiful property. Very convenient location. Walking distance to Fisherman’s Wharf, Cannery Row, and downtown. Staff was helpful and kind. Room was clean and cozy but there was no AC and the walls are thin. The room was a little run down but still well maintained and clean. I would still stay here again.

Room was clean. Mattress was hard. Great central location. Parking lot was tight. Room was big. Water pressure in shower was weak. Friendly staff. Breakfast could be improved. Loved the outdoor seating area.
