The people were wonderful. The property is in a good location near everything. But The property is older but they have put a lot of effort into making it look decent. It is not luxury but it is nice

The location was superb as were the accommodations. Parking was iffy but worked. Definitely would recommend.

I was not expecting the hotel to be an Inn. I was traveling with my teenage daughter and the ground floor room didn’t feel that secure. There was a car right outside the room that the alarm went off at 3 am. There were also people outside the room partying. Did not sleep well at all.

Great spot. Excellent location. My room had a walkout to the garden. The other rooms have balconies to the garden. I really liked staying there.

Pleasant quiet large room with great location walkable to Old Fisherman’s wharf and Cannery Row. Located next to a small market if you want to get some grocery items.

Thank you for a wonderful stay, we would definitely recommend.

Stayed in a historical portion of this hotel and it was wonderful! Two room suite decorated in period style. Although it was worn an outside, the interior stayed nice and cool for sleeping. It was very spacious and clean. Bed was comfortable and fireplace comes with a duraflame log for you to burn if you get too chilly, a very nice touch!

There was a steel plate in the street in front of the hotel that made a loud clonk-clonk every time a car passed by at all times of the day and night. :(

We had a great stay here. Their garden courtyard was so relaxing and always had a nice cool breeze. We at first were taken back that they didn’t have air-conditioning since it was summer, but the room surprisingly stayed very cool with the fan, so it wasn’t an issue at all. Our room was very spacious, comfortable, and nicely decorated. It was also very quiet here. The location was fantastic. You will not get a better deal in downtown Monterey for the price. We look forward to staying here again and would recommend this place to others.

Older property but maintained well. No mildew in showered, bathroom very clean with no dust bunnies. Easy walking access to downtown area, plaza, and fisherman’s wharf. The latter is very touristy!

The hotel is in a great location right in old town near lots of restaurants and trolley stops. The rooms are clean, but a little dated. Not a bad choice for families and it was nice that there was a little patio outside the room.

My husband and I stayed in a standard King room for one night while passing through town during an anniversary weekend. I'll be honest that I didn't have very high expectations going into our stay, but we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The room was very clean and nicely appointed. The furniture was nice, as was the bedding, and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom had been renovated and was squeaky clean. The grounds were well kept. We popped in to grab a couple of things from the free breakfast, but the pickings were pretty slim. Parking is indeed tight - it takes some maneuvering. One thing to note: we assumed parking was complimentary based on the listing, but it is $25/night. There were a few cons. Both the patio and entry doors are extremely old and thin, and do not block sound, air, or light. Replacing those would make a significant difference in the feel of the room. The road noise is also considerable, and I was woken up a couple of times, even while wearing earplugs. Finally, after staying there, the cost of the room seemed outrageous. I've stayed at luxury properties in major cities for considerably less. I realize Monterey commands high-dollar stays for whatever reason, but $400 a night for an upscale motel is a bit much, in my opinion. That said, it was a comfortable stay for one night.

The staff is not on site at night, this became a problem as the guests in the room Nextdoor began partying at 10PM and continued until 4AM, there was no one to contact at the front desk. The rooms are NOT insulated so even when they weren't loud, you could hear the TV and conversation clearly. The breakfast is just "ok" especially for the prices they charge. We won't be returning.

Good for the price good location.
