Travelodge by Wyndham Monterey Bay

Avoid this so called Hotel.

Cons: really wanted to love it but they advertised a heated pool, but it was freezing so we couldn't use it. Breakfast was some apples and granola bars. Bed was super uncomfortable so we didnt sleep well, unfortunately.

Convenient location, large room, clean and quiet.

The room was very clean and beautiful. I really enjoyed walking into the lobby and hearing live piano and vocals! That was one of my favorite parts. They had a sound machine in the room that had multiple settings. We listened to the “brook” setting all night, which helped us to sleep better. They had refillable water bottles at no extra cost. They have multiple restaurants on the premises, which were also very good. In their outdoor areas they had pools, a Jacuzzi, a fireplace with chairs to sit around and drink a glass of wine, free s’mores, cornhole games, etc. They also had free laundry services for guests, which was very helpful in our case because we had been traveling for a week already and needed to do our laundry. They were very quick in accommodating any need that we had. Upon entering the room, we noticed that the cleaning staff had left a washcloth in the room which they immediately came and got within two minutes. They also came within five minutes to fix the doorstop which had been broken off. Also, since we are a little tech illiterate, within 10 minutes, somebody came up and helped us to figure out the TV which we couldn’t get to work. We would definitely stay here again. It was one of my favorite hotels that I’ve ever stayed in, actually. Thanks Tenaya!

I like it because

Nice location, close to both Carmel and Monterey, and the freeway. Loved that the room has both a fridge and microwave, for budget-conscious people. We were given a room at the back of the property, on the 2nd floor. It was quiet but would occasionally hear low flying airplanes, as the property is close to the airport. it didn't bother us, as it was not frequent and definitely not in the evening when its bed time.

The whole property is dated and not in great shape. The beds are good, and the bathroom was decent, but the hair dryer was from the 90s. When we arrived there wasn’t anyone at the front desk and a loud party going on in the adjoining restaurant

Real spacious rooms with and extra room plus a deck you can sit out on, almost like a time share.

It’s our best place of all time

Good free parking and about 9 minute drive to Cannery Row. Our room had patio doors onto the pool and there's a very decent restaurant in the hotel complex. Every morning you can pick up coffee and hot water and apples and muesli bars as complementary. You can pay for a decent breakfast in the restaurant which is competitively priced. Exactly met our needs.

On line Expedia offered a breakfast special by paying extra money to have breakfast at the hotel restaurant an extra 160.00 dollars for the two days stay at the hotel in the first morning i was told by the employee that that offer aren't been offered for some time over a couple of years and that they couldn't do anything to help me out and that I would have to figure it out on my own on how to get a refund back through the internet and I haven't had any luck on getting a refund or my money back now I'm out 160.00 dollars and a horrible way to start my vacation with three small children no body from Expedia will respond to me calls or emails

Parking was great. Right outside our room. Easy in and easy out.

Very clean room. There were a few spots that looked like they were touched up of there was some obvious damage, but the overall feeling was of cleanliness. There was no breakfast onsite, but there was a cafe on the other side of the parking lot, which had delicious breakfast lunch and diner options.

Dated but comfortable, very accommodating and efficient staff. Location, location, location. Dated. Antiquated vending machines

Can’t beat the price . Clean and bed was comfortable.

The one thing I didn’t like most was that there weren’t any plastic cups for the bathroom for rinsing after brushing. We used a couple of the paper cups for coffee, but I would have preferred to use them only for that.

We liked everything, have nothing to say bad!

It was okay to stay for one night.
