SpringHill Suites by Marriott New Orleans Downtown/Canal Street

We had a great experience at SpringHill. The staff here are top notch. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. We came for Essence fest and this hotel is in a great location to get around town via ride share, a street car, or walking. Bourbon street and the French Quarter isn’t too far. It’s close to the Super Dome and the convention center was a 10 car ride. The hotel didn’t feel overcrowded during the festival. We were able to see a clear view of fireworks from our rooftop and the rooftop was a great chill spot for us on other nights. They even have a DJ on certain nights. We definitely plan to come back next time we’re in NOLA.

Hotel is really nice. Roof top bar and lounge is great. Unsure of the location. We used the street car pass to get around and realized that it may have been easier for us if we had booked a different hotel. You have to walk several blocks to get to anything of interest so use the Le Pass app and ride the street car.

The staff was friendly, helpful, and kind throughout our stay. We also felt very safe, as a keycard was required to operate the elevator and access the property at night. Our room was comfortable and well-equipped with a microwave, coffee maker, mini fridge, iron, ironing board, wardrobe, and armoire. The bathroom included shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and a hair dryer. Towels and sheets were clean. The rooftop patio was beautiful and relaxing, and the location was excellent and within walking distance of many attractions. A few areas could be improved. The bathroom could have been cleaner, especially the shower. The sliding bathroom door had a gap that reduced privacy, and both the door handle and toilet handle were loose. There was also no bathroom fan or ventilation. My biggest concern was housekeeping. Staff entered our room without knocking or announcing themselves and ignored the “Do Not Disturb” sign on the door. For privacy and security, I believe housekeeping should always knock and identify themselves before entering. Overall, we had a pleasant stay and appreciated the staff, amenities, safety measures, and convenient location.

Location was walkable to French quarter but it wasn’t ideal. Price was decent for the accommodations. It’s Nola, there were a few sketchy characters along the sidewalks, but that’s anywhere in NOLA

Enjoyed the rooftop views and bar. Rooms were good and comfortable. Breakfast options could be more varied but it was okay. Room furniture looked old or stained.
