The Old No. 77 Hotel & Chandlery

Exceptional

Beds were comfy and the place was very historic and clean. The location was very close to the french quarter, walking distance to everything. The floors were very creaky, and it was hard to sleep because all night you could here the floors creaking when people were walking the next floor up. Also the pricing is not very transparent. I ended up paying almost twice what booking advertised because I was charged "resort fees" and $60/day for parking.

The rooms was very dark. No windows and poor light. The AC vent is right above the toilet and there’s a constant drip due to condensation. The elevators are old and the buttons have to be pushed multiple times to get them work.

Lovely hotel, super staff, and a really good restaurant!

Superb

This property is very historical New Orleans! So if you keep your expectations in mind with that, it’s a great property! Mignon at the front desk was a delight! Coffee shop downstairs came in handy and was very convenient.

I generally love this hotel and I book there often. The staff is amazing. I wished they used fitted sheets on the beds though.

Pros - Beautiful historic vibe - wood floors, really comfortable pillows/bed, walls are paper thin (we were lucky we didn’t have people beside us other than the first and last nights we were there. We slept to a YouTube of ocean waves so we didn’t have any issue sleeping. - Location was perfect for us Cons - No free coffee, had to go down and buy it every morning from their bistro - $19/day “service fee” which provided absolutely NOTHING of value - Bathroom only had a small pedestal sink, no space for my wife’s makeup or my shaving bag, had to get ready at the mirror in the main bedroom - AC was blowing directly on my side of the bed which made me sick the whole stay. I would with a wake-up sinus headache. It seemed to go away during the day but the flight home was excruciatingly painful. Ears wouldn’t pop and by the time I got home I could barely hear but most of the pain went away once we were on the ground. - Linen service apparently every other day, nobody told us about that - Bar was always packed every night - I would typically get a nightcap each night. I was told I could take my drink glass to the room at night and then Sunday, the same bartenders I had seen every night, gave me a hard time for trying to take drinks to the room after the game.. I was asked what I thought I was doing and told to “bring the glasses back down”. Made me pretty bitter considering the cost per night and the other cons above.

The room was okay. It wasn’t the best hotel but also not the worst. If you like really old hotels this property is for you.

Staff was incredibly helpful. The hotel has adorable quirks and is in a great location. I would definitely stay here again!

Hotel was clean and amenities were nice. Walls are paper thin. Shower in the bathroom emitted the highest pitch noise I’ve ever heard when mixing hot and cold. It was unbearable and we had to take 1 minute showers. Area is safe and within walking distance to everything you need. 4/5

It was a wonderful experience, loved the vibe at the hotel and the staff friendly

It was a very quirky hotel. Loved the hardwood floors even though they were a little slanted. The beds and pillows were very comfy. Didn’t particularly like that there was no view out of the window. It was very convenient to all the sites and liked that the parking was across the street.

The room didn't have a window, a bit of a bummer. Also, the toilet seat needed to be secured and so did the extra towel holder. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Loved the restaurant and a great location for the convention center.
