Genuinely well decorated, warm friendly reception and a welcome change to chain owned hotels The deposit taken of 300 dollars against your card which may not be refunded up to 10-15 days after check out - staff were unconvincing as to why it would take so long

Excellent room and clean. Very good experience

The first front desk staff member who checked me in lacked a welcoming personality or was having a tough night. The later staff was much kinder. Skyline room does not mean view of the New York skyline as I had assumed. It only means you are on one of the top four floors. This was rather disappointing. We were 10 floors up and we could still feel the shaking of the subway below. Room was very clean, but the toilet ran constantly after flushing. Had expected more of an experience for the price tag.

Location & vibe

Room and lobby were nicely decorated and baristas at the downstairs cafe were super nice. That’s all i have to say that is nice about this hotel. I utilized two tea bags in the room during my stay and after doing so realized that the minibar menu showed I would be charged $6 per teabag. Honestly even the most low level hotels provide free tea bags and coffee in the room (those are not considered “minibar items’ and it never occurred to me that I would be charged any amount for a tea bag, let alone $6 per. When I calmly brought this shock and disappointment to the attention of the hotel front desk staff an extremely cocky young worker said “Well I don’t set the prices.” That is not the point of a customer service position! Ace seriously train your workers to instead say, “I will absolutely bring your concern to the attention of management.” It sucks being dismissed when a legitimate comment/concern is raised. In the final analysis I think this hotel is way too proud of its funky and fun decor and therefore thinks it doesn’t need to consider the overall customer experience. The attitude of the front desk worker, mentioned above, left a really bad overall impression. I am a frequent traveler to Brooklyn and I will not book here again.

Incredible hotel in Brooklyn. The bar which is in the lobby is super fun and absolutely hopping on Friday night. They had an incredible DJ with an amazingly diverse crowd. Would recommend at the highest level!

I did not realize I was booking at a full night club. I stayed over for a family wedding and brought 6 friends back to the hotel for a drink had no idea that we could not have a drink at the hotel bar. Guest should be given notice before booking!

The lobby was really interesting and comfortable. Sometimes the staff was not terribly friendly. But sometimes they really were. The faucet handles in the sink were really difficult to adjust and the hot water out of the sink was so hot it was burning The floors in the gym were so dirty you could see the dirt and Hair and the treadmills had hundreds of sweat marks. The shelves were covered in dirt and hairs, and it looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed in months. I would not choose this hotel again.

Great location, cool vibe. Not that it’s a negative but the lobby is a party club over the weekend which might not be for everyone. I didn’t mind it but can imagine it not being for everyone. Staff probably could have been a bit friendlier

the room was a good size + the bathroom was also a good size. they had tea kettle .... since USA is a country of coffee drinkers mostly kettle is not available (only coffee machine) the room had no cupboard. there was no choice but to open up your suitcase & leave it open, living out of the suitcase. we were 2 people , so 2 open suitcases took up a lot of space. a cupboard or drawers to put away things would have been convenient. we were on the 9th floor, but the rumblings from the metro still made a noise & shook the room.... needed time to get used to it to fall asleep.

The rooms are varied- stayed in several rooms over a period of time- the lighting in the room is poor, towels are in bad shape- the shower in one instance was a trickle- will never stay here again

Great hotel all-around!

Very clean rooms, and lots of clever little design details. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful as well. Centrally located with a nice bodega just around the corner. Would definitely stay at Ace again!
