The staff was very friendly , the neighborhood was nice, rhe murals on the wall were lovely. There was a cat. No elevator, steep stairs, cost way too much for what it was, mold in the shower, stains on the bed.

Cool funky place in a great location . Staff members were super helpful. Water for shower never really got warm/hot
-
Location Small and cramped, really old
-
Comfortable rooms, nice staff, cold water fountain, cute cat who lives there Small bathrooms that weren’t too clean, room locks weren’t super secure
-
It was super hot that day, and the staff literately gave us a room without AC and very noisy to open the window.
-
Good option when you need it. Alfonzo was a gray help
-

This is a wonderful place out of time. Feeling back in the 60ies or 70ies (even thiugh I was not there at the time). The hotel is a museum and has a history. Indeed it bathroom and toilets are shared but it fits with the experience. I had the feeling this is a place where something can happen: a jam (as I experienced it) or sharing a basket ball games, or whatever. To me this is the best experience one can get in NY, feeling you can cross Janis Joplin or Leonard Cohen in Chelsea hotel! Thanks a lot. We'll defnitly come back

loved the art & the cozy old world feel. we stayed in a room with amazing art by steven appleby and an en suite bathroom. room was clean and a/c worked ok. cat in the lobby a nice bonus. overall very pleasant stay, good value for the money water pooled in the tub during my shower which wasn't ideal but it's an old building!

Such a charming place. Loved hanging out with Ned the cat in the mornings. It's an old building, and it shows, but it's super charming and comfortable and clean where it matters. Staff was very responsive and helpful. There are a lot of stairs, but it's a cool place in a great area for a great value.

N/A The property was not clean. The room was not done, clothes everywhere, bed not done. No light. & received attitude.

Excellent value and exactly what I wanted. Everything was great.

Quirky place. Won’t forget it!

Very clean. Good neighborhood. The staff was very charming. There is no elevator and my bag was quite a big one -- but I was able to store it downstairs :)

Location @ 25th and 2nd Ave. was very convenient. Also, I took a redeye into NYC and they were able to give me my room early! Manager on my last two days was terrific, very friendly and accommodating. Early managers, not so much. Lighting in room was very poor - just a ceiling lamp and small bedside lamp that wasn't very bright; nothing over the mirror above the sink. No table or bench in the bathroom to place clothes. I knew there was no elevator, but still, walking up to 4th floor on narrow staircase was a challenge. Hotel wifi didn't work in my room; I had to walk down to the 2nd fl. lobby. Noise from students at night on 25th St. plaza was loud until midnight/1 a.m. - bring earplugs.

Location was good Very low standard. Lots of street noisy.
