Hampton Inn Madison Square Garden Area Hotel

Great location and very convenient to Penn Station. A good amount of storage. The elevators were awfully slow and we took the stairs on most mornings from the 5th floor.

Location close to Penn Station, grocery store , close to Empire States building and close walking to time square. For mecwas a very good location.

Overall the location and friendly staff made this stay a win. The Hampton is known for their comfortable beds and pillows- and this did not disappoint. It is important to ask for a higher floor if the noise of the city becomes too loud to sleep. Get to the breakfast early as it is not replenished frequently. We would suggest a place to fill up water bottled as the dispenser indicates not to. Bathroom, while small is quite functional. Really appreciated a functioning fan and great water pressure.

Excellent location if going to MSG. Room was very clean, comfortable bed. Breakfast room could use a make over, furniture kinda worn. Breakfast average. Kids seemed to like.

The property is in a good location for attending events at MSG. The air conditioning ran very warm making it difficult to sleep.

Check in is at 3pm and they only had 1 person working. There were several people standing to the side of the line which they took before us and kept apologizing. Someone else finally showed up who didn’t work there anymore but came to help out. They gave us our key and told us our room number. The elevator look 5 mins because not many people could fit at once. When we tried to get in our room, we were unable to and it blinked red. So down we go to the front desk. Confirmed the room number and they re- keyed the cards. Waited 3 mins and back up to the room only to open the door to someone else room! Back down to the front desk again. They said they gave us the wrong room and presented us with new keys to the correct room. Offered us a water for our trouble. We had 4pm dinner reservations that we had to walk briskly to get to 10 mins late. Next morning the toilet wouldn’t flush so we had to have someone come up to fix it.

The water should be complimentary for everyone, not just people who have been there 100 times. I also would like a fridge to keep that water and other items cold and fresh.

The day we checked in are the air conditioning in our room was not working. They were very accommodating with fans and reassured us that the hotel was full, but we would be moved the next day. We were moved to a nice room the next day with nice air-conditioning and the staff was amazing throughout.

Everything is ok! Nice location. But even I live in 17th floor still noisy at night time.

The rooms were very comfortable and clean. Facilities were great! Breakfast was really good. Location was fantastic. Centre of everything. Having to use lifts all the time could be annoying when it was really busy. Wish there was a stairs option. One room between 4 people was very cramped and there was not e a lot of space for our luggage and belongings.

It was close to MSG and easy to get around.

No refrigerator. I only put this at the top because I wish I knew ahead of time and I would have packed a cooler. Great location for anything NYC & MSG for 2 of 4 nights 1 block away! Fantastic grocery store directly across the street. We stayed 4 nights, the rest of our party extended their stay another 4 nights. Unfortunately they had to switch rooms in between, the front desk told us because they were over booked and they had no double rooms available for the next night, they would have to check out, wait a few hours and then check back in to a single room for 4 nights. I feel like that could have gone smoother with a little effort you could TRY. If a double is unavailable, then waive the fee for a late check out and keep the double a bit later the single is ready. It may need to be turned over a bit later but only for how long it takes to clean the new room to be ready to move into, without awkward 3 hour gap in the lobby. A couple of small appliances would be helpful, no refrigerators in any of the rooms. Easy 1-2 nights but longer, I now know there’s plenty of room for a large cooler with wheels under the vanity in the spacious, modern bathroom. Strange small sink in the corner of it was weird but a great shower, comfortable beds pillows and the room was clean & everything worked. Not much space around the beds because of a corner desk and an ottoman under the night table between two beds in a double room with no chair or couch to use it with. Breakfast? Be there early!

Being in the center of Manhattan, within a 5 minute walk to Penn Station, this hotel is ideal to travel within NYC. The hotel was clean, and the staff were friendly. They served morning breakfast which includes your coffee, tea, eggs, toast, and a waffle-making station. There is also a supermarket across the 31st street, Jack's Marketplace, which allows you to run out and get any items you may have forgotten to pack on your trip. We enjoyed our stay and were glad to have stayed at the Hampton Inn Madison Square Garden Area Hotel.
