Our room had 10 foot ceilings and was much bigger than similar rooms in Manhatten. Overall the hotel was excellent and was in a very convenient location but bear in mind it is very large and really busy especially on weekends.

decent sized room I am writing to formally complain about my recent Friday–Tuesday stay at the New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge. What began as an unacceptable room-condition issue turned into an ongoing customer-service failure that I am still trying to resolve days later. When I first entered my room, there was an immediately noticeable and extremely unpleasant sour odor. Initially, I gave the hotel the benefit of the doubt and assumed it may have been caused by a cleaning rag or product used in the room. It was not. The shower curtain was absolutely disgusting and was clearly the source of the odor. Simply touching it transferred the smell to my hands, and it did not easily wash off. I notified the hotel that morning, and the curtain was removed. When I returned to my room around 7:00 PM after spending the day walking around New York in the summer heat, there was still no shower curtain. I was therefore unable to properly use the shower in a room I was paying for because the hotel could not complete something as basic as replacing a shower curtain over the course of an entire day. The curtain was eventually replaced, but the response from the front desk amounted to little more than an apology. Given how unsanitary the original condition was and how significantly the hotel's handling of it inconvenienced me, I did not feel that simply saying "sorry" adequately addressed the situation. The following morning, I returned to the front desk to explain my frustration and was told that a manager would contact me within 24 hours. That call never came. Then, the next morning, I was awakened by a knock at my door for housekeeping at approximately 8:00 AM. I cannot remember another hotel stay where housekeeping has knocked on my door at 8:00 in the morning without being requested. I also began receiving multiple folios that did not even reflect the correct dates of my stay, showing Friday through Sunday when I was actually staying Friday through Tuesday.
