Amazing stay!! We really enjoyed our time at this beautiful property.

Unfortunately, the room itself felt extremely dated and in serious need of investment. Part of the baseboard was coming away from the wall, the furniture was noticeably nicked and worn, and the entire space felt like it had not been refreshed in a very long time. Even the television in the bathroom was so old that it was almost charming—I genuinely felt like I had been transported back in time. This hotel could be an amazing option with some meaningful renovations because the room size and overall bones are fantastic. Right now, though, the condition of the room does not match what I would expect at this price point. The rooftop pool also sounded much better in theory than it was in practice. It was extremely crowded, and the service was terrible. The food and drink prices were very high, which I would have been willing to pay, but we could barely get anyone to serve us. There is a lot of potential here, especially because spacious hotel rooms are so rare in Manhattan, but between the dated condition and the poor rooftop service, I do not think I would stay again.

    Great service

Room was clean, staff was accommodating as well. Be aware of the staff coming in rooms without knocking first and also major elevator issues and the pictures presented are not what you see when you get there. There is no bodies of water that viewable from the rooms and I was on the 38th floor in which we got stuck a few times due to the elevator issues. Overall, I did receive a credit for the false advertisement however, leadership should step up and re-write some policies so that staff can work more efficiently.

My one criticism is the life guards at the pool- the vast majority of them sit looking at their phones and don’t look at what is going on in the pool. Why have a lifeguard who is allowed to be on their phone at work?

Very nice hotel with great city views on upper floors. Food was very good at their restaurant. Location is very walkable to SoHo shops and restaurants

Once the Dominick gets their elevator situation fixed, I will book a stay here again next time I’m in Manhattan. The pool area could use more space as well.

    Clean room, helpful staff

Everything was great about my stay at The Dominick, they welcomed you from the time we valet our car, to the reception, room service, and checkout. Thats is why they are a 5 star hotel.

Elevator was broken but it was a nice experience overall

  • Engine customer Jul 2026

Unfortunately, The Dominick did not deliver the level of service or amenities we expected from a five-star hotel. Guests routinely waited 10–25 minutes for an elevator, and the delays were significant enough that we missed the start of an event simply because of the time it took to get to and from our room. Additionally, the pool area was consistently overcrowded, making it difficult to find an available lounge chair. Overall, the experience did not reflect the premium standards associated with a five-star property.

Beautiful view and great size room especially for nyc.

    Overall great stay

We have been coming to this hotel for several years now. The owners will not commit to the capital commitments needed to fix the elevators. Average time can be 5-10 minutes with max time being 20-25 minutes to get up or downstairs. I know people who directly experienced the max time. Hotel management knows there is an issue but doesn’t seem like owners are willing to spend the money. We experienced this issue for several stays in a row and now we will not come back due to this issue. It’s really a shame because this hotel has all the other qualities of a 5 star hotel. Hotel staff can be helpful , rooms can be spacious, and gym is satisfactory. But 3 working elevators for a building of 45+ floors is a complete travesty and I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone. Avoid or it’s a self inflicted wound.

    All good

We just had a short stay at The Dominick to go into Manhattan for the 4th of July. The hotel is in a fantastic location in SoHo with beautiful views ( esp from the higher floors). Our check in was very smooth…the staff was very helpful with parking ( they even suggested we park on the street since it was a holiday which saved us $125), bags and even had a great room ready for us early. We enjoyed our massages in the spa and used the fitness center. Our room was lovely and had a perfect view of the fireworks over the Hudson River. Here are the only complaints we had: The elevators are awful! One was broken and the 3 remaining could not handle the demand. There was often a long line in the lobby or on the floor where the pool is. Sometimes it took more than 10 minutes to get on one. It was a constant topic of discussion amongst all of the guests. Also, the pool area was very small and crowded. We tried to get lunch there right before our spa appts, but were told that it would take almost an hour to get our food, so we left. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but hope they can work on the few issues they have. The hotel has 5 star decor, service and amenities, but those problems can effect the quality of one’s stay.

The hotel was not at all as it seemed by pics online. The elevators weren’t working properly and we had to wait for 10 min or so each time we wanted to go out of our room we actually checked out early because of this. Terrible experience for the insane price.

When asked about this, the staff will placate you and not offer assistance.

Unfortunately the elevators took about 20 minutes to come. Most of the trip was spent waiting on the elevators. Spa treatment didn’t go well because I was late due to the elevator situation, no extra time was given and still had to pay full price.
