Overall great stay
-
We have been coming to this hotel for several years now. The owners will not commit to the capital commitments needed to fix the elevators. Average time can be 5-10 minutes with max time being 20-25 minutes to get up or downstairs. I know people who directly experienced the max time. Hotel management knows there is an issue but doesn’t seem like owners are willing to spend the money. We experienced this issue for several stays in a row and now we will not come back due to this issue. It’s really a shame because this hotel has all the other qualities of a 5 star hotel. Hotel staff can be helpful , rooms can be spacious, and gym is satisfactory. But 3 working elevators for a building of 45+ floors is a complete travesty and I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone. Avoid or it’s a self inflicted wound.

We just had a short stay at The Dominick to go into Manhattan for the 4th of July. The hotel is in a fantastic location in SoHo with beautiful views ( esp from the higher floors). Our check in was very smooth…the staff was very helpful with parking ( they even suggested we park on the street since it was a holiday which saved us $125), bags and even had a great room ready for us early. We enjoyed our massages in the spa and used the fitness center. Our room was lovely and had a perfect view of the fireworks over the Hudson River. Here are the only complaints we had: The elevators are awful! One was broken and the 3 remaining could not handle the demand. There was often a long line in the lobby or on the floor where the pool is. Sometimes it took more than 10 minutes to get on one. It was a constant topic of discussion amongst all of the guests. Also, the pool area was very small and crowded. We tried to get lunch there right before our spa appts, but were told that it would take almost an hour to get our food, so we left. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but hope they can work on the few issues they have. The hotel has 5 star decor, service and amenities, but those problems can effect the quality of one’s stay.

The hotel was not at all as it seemed by pics online. The elevators weren’t working properly and we had to wait for 10 min or so each time we wanted to go out of our room we actually checked out early because of this. Terrible experience for the insane price.
-
Good location, normal rooms. Elevator problems. 15-20min of wait every time no matter you go up or down.

The pool an staff The elevator

Everything the staff were really friendly and the hotel is lovely. The lifts get alot of mentions in reviews however we didn't find them too bad, they just have an unusual operating system. Room was spotless. Had to wait a while for the complimentary coffee to be refilled in the Mezzanine but it was a bonus as we weren't expecting any at all

When asked about this, the staff will placate you and not offer assistance.
-
Unfortunately the elevators took about 20 minutes to come. Most of the trip was spent waiting on the elevators. Spa treatment didn’t go well because I was late due to the elevator situation, no extra time was given and still had to pay full price.

Friendly staff. Clean rooms and a great location
-
Secondly the pool area should be adult only. With 6 kids under 8 splashing around yesterday was like a kindergarten.

Location Elevators were awful
-
Nice amazing views
-
Be prepared to wait for 15 minutes for an elevator. This is not a joke. Hotel is decent and location is amazing but the crazy elevator times throughout the 2 days we stayed there. Not 1 minute, not 5 minutes literally 15 minutes throughout the entire stay. It was a running joke amongst other guests.

The location was great. Front desk and doormen were very hospitable and respectful, HOWEVER, the hotel is extremely SLOW and needs serious development THE ELEVATORS. EVERY SINGLE DAY it would take the elevator around 10-15 mins to reach you, such an inconvenience. Also services in general are just SLOW. I asked for a spoon and bowl and the woman told me straight up it would take 40 mins? Why? A bowl and spoon? Bellhop took around an hour to arrive. Again, why?
-
The excellent location, the big windows and street view to Soho and the Hudson river The elevator system and setup takes soo long to arrive to and from any floor. We nearly missed our driver because of the delayed arrival of the elevator, residents should be notified to consider that specifically when they want to check out.
-
Unacceptable to pay this much money for a hotel where elevators don’t work.

Amazing Staff immaculate room
-
Best location but Hotel needs an update on furniture, carpet.... Elevators were a long wait too. But really enjoyed the location and the spa.
