This is one of the nicest hotels in our experience. The room had a real fireplace which we used during a major snowstorm — wonderful!

Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay at the Lowell hotel in the upper east side. The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated, the staff was warm and welcoming and very friendly. Couple of areas of concern: construction project at the hotel began in Ernest the first morning after our arrival at 8 AM. No warning to guests, just hammering and drilling noises coming right outside of our room, although I learned later they were happening on the floor below. I did mention this to the front desk staff and they discounted one night at 50%. I was grateful for the concession, but I would've preferred knowing that this was happening either at arrival or pre-arrival to prepare my schedule and activities accordingly. Also, dinner at Majorelle, which was absolutely outstanding, suffered from very slow service as did breakfast each morning in the hotel, not something unexpected for the caliber and quality of this hotel. While we're talking about breakfast please note that the prices are very high - $55 for 2 eggs, coffee & toast. Normally I wouldn't bat an eye at high prices for a meal at a hotel of this quality, but it boggles my mind that two eggs, a couple of pieces of toast, some bacon and a cup of coffee will run you half of $100... If you booked breakfast as part of your room rate, you will get a credit to help defray but not completely cover the meal. The location of the hotel is terrific and a short walk to Central Park and amazing shopping.

This property charges gratuity on a free breakfast (which they later said is capped as a credit), which I found tacky considering the very high price of the rooms. Poor communication with front desk and between members of staff. Paid for two expensive rooms for a weekend and had expectations of a luxury stay, was not that. Instant coffee in the rooms. 3 credit card holds for two rooms, why? Rooms not up-to-date (considering price)

The Lowell is definitely one of our top three NYC Hotels. Love everything about this property. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and professional. Love the bar. Majorelle is THE prettiest dining room in the city. Plus the food is delicious.

The room was comfortable The room had terrible views and it was small

This hotel is stellar….in every possible or imaginable way. From the moment you enter, to the friendly staff who remember to address you by name, to the suite decor (oh the books!), mini kitchen filled with every possible item you’d want including by not limited to fresh lemons and limes. The bath was sublime & spacious, and the bedding so soft and cozy. I’m hooked. Hotels on The Upper East Side take note! The Lowell is my forever home away from home!

My wife and I have stayed at many fine hotels in Manhattan over the years, but the Lowell may just be the best of them all! This was our first stay there and everything was perfect...and I mean everything. Every staff member we encountered was professional, courteous and very attentive to our needs. The hotel is well located and in tip top shape! We will return and highly recommend a stay at the Lowell!

The staff was incredible! I’ve never been so taken care of. I was truly sad to leave. The hotel was awesome, but what truly made it was the people who worked there. Every single one of them including the bar tender and hosts at the bar next door and are all time fave, Jesus!!! They all took such pride in the hotel and their jobs there. I told them they were stuck with me for life, because I’m never staying anywhere else. Nothing. The people made it perfect. If I had to say anything I wish they had smart tvs so I could watch Netflix or Hulu. But that’s just me being spoiled! I really wouldn’t change a thing.
