Located at the intersection of Midtown and the Upper East Side, white gloved elevator attendants, a Les Clefs d'Or concierge team and trained housekeepers help maintain the quality of service. The Pierre offers a variety of exclusive experiences for young travelers as well. A host of child-friendly amenities await - from special treats to movies, toys and special museum passes on demand. The Museum Mile is 1.7 mi away. The Central Park Zoo is a short walk from the hotel, and the Concierge team can work with their partners at the Central Park Conservancy to organize special experiences for children. On arrival at the hotel, The Pierre requires a credit card pre-authorization to cover the value of your stay plus $200 per day to cover additional incidentals. The authorization will hold the funds until check-out, at which time the amount actually incurred during the stay will be charged.

Staff was welcoming, room was spacious and location was great. Negative side was the old building, sewer smell in the room, muddy water in the morning and poor air conditioning.

We wanted to be as close to Central Park as possible and The Pierre delivered! Room overlooked the park and location couldn’t be better. We explored all of Manhattan this trip so that SE corner is a great starting point. Everyone at the hotel were phenomenal and incredibly helpful and professional. Rooms are older of course but we loved every part of the age and character of the property. Definitely coming back here for next stay!

I can't say anything particularly bad about the hotel. But for the price and location, they need to renovate the rooms which are really dated. The one very annoying issue is the shower and tub faucets. They have non intuitive, complicated and non functional controls. So, my shower was luke warm at best. Note to overpaid room designer - Stick with separate hot and cold levers for the rest of us please.

my husband and I came to NYC to celebrate our 25th anniversary and this hotel was absolutely wonderful! the staff treated us so well and the hotel is beautiful! A total treat and memorable experience! A sincere thank you to The Pierre staff we had an amazing trip! Thank you!

The view from the room, the quietness, the location. Nothing

The internet was extremely slow. The staff in Perrine were extremely rude and arrogant. The room was tiny (the smallest $1,000 per night room I've stayed at anywhere in the world) and the furniture was old and broken. The concierge was unhelpful. There was no running hot water for the first two mornings. Upon enquiry, I was informed that running hot water is available only after 8:30am. There is no spa in the hotel and the equipment in the fitness centre is old and many machines are out of service. It is hard to believe that this hotel is operated by India's legendary Taj Group which is famous for its service. I have stayed at more than 30 Taj properties all over the world and this is easily the worst experience. It feels like the Taj Group has given up on this property while awaiting the final sale. I will never stay here again.

Besides the room having maintenance issues such as mold in the bathroom and missing grout. One of our beds smelled like urine. When we notified front desk they said they would send up housekeeping to check on it. After several calls and several hours nobody showed up. Upon check out we mentioned again the smell of urine. They said they would check into it and get back to us. They called us on our way home and accused us of bringing a pet in the room. They offered us zero compensation and called us a liars when we told them that we did not have any pets. Also want to mention there is no way we could have bought a pet in as we were ushered into the room via bellhop and he spent quite a bit of time setting things up in the room with us and explaining amenities. I am totally disgusted by the way that we were treated. At over $1,000 a night for a room to offer us zero compensation besides free breakfast is totally unacceptable.
