There is something special about this place — a mix of old New York elegance, celebrity energy, good manners, and that very pleasant feeling of being surrounded by intelligent, well-dressed, and well-behaved people. It feels less like just checking into a hotel and more like accidentally walking into a very stylish private club where, luckily, they decided to let you stay. The service is excellent. From the doorman to housekeeping, everyone was genuinely kind, attentive, and helpful. Not the artificial hotel smile that disappears faster than your room key in a jacket pocket, but real warmth, real care, and a very pleasant sense that the staff actually wants you to feel comfortable. The rooms are very clean, beautifully designed, and extremely cozy. Yes, they are not huge — this is New York, after all, where even square meters seem to have their own investment banker — but everything is very comfortable and thoughtfully arranged. The room has everything you need, and you can feel attention to detail everywhere. The whole hotel feels elegant, polished, and truly luxurious without being loud or vulgar. It is “expensive” in the best possible way: tasteful, refined, comfortable, and full of character. Overall, The Mark is a wonderful hotel with a very special atmosphere, excellent service, clean and cozy rooms, and a real feeling of classic New York sophistication.

They took $6,000 in error form my bank card, made no apology and have been awful about refunding it and two weeks later I am still waiting -

Highly recommend! The location is exquisite and such a comfortable hotel. I wish the lobby was a bit bigger.

Room was INCREDIBLY loud. I would not recommend staying here if you intend on having a good nights sleep. The elevators are a disaster. The room service is slow after 7pm. Front desk was less than enthusiastic to help. The Carlyle, The Surrey or even The Four Seasons midtown are better picks.

I booked this hotel, partly on the recommendation of an influencer I saw on the Internet. Upon arrival he was greeted with a fruit basket and a welcome letter and a gift bag in his room. We booked the exact same room, and none of these amenities were provided and as I had reserved this hotel for my birthday I was disappointed at the lack of attention to details like this. Even after mentioning this to the reception desk all they brought up was a plate of sliced fruit (see foto). Our beds were turned down only once during our four night stay and housekeeping did a very mediocre job, leaving used coffee cups around after the morning cleaning and not putting away the blow dryer. Coffee pods were not refilled daily. When I mentioned this to reception, they said they were really booked this time of year and a few things may have slipped. If that is the case, reduce the number of rooms you are renting out and provide the level of service to each guest that they expect in this price range. I also suggest you check your room charges before you leave. We were charged an additional $380 for items in the mini bar (which we never used!). The rooms are spacious and clean and the beds are comfortable but the service was dismal for a hotel that markets itself as “New York’s most boldly lavish hotel. This time, The Mark has missed the mark.
