If you are looking for a fancy hotel, just know this isn't it. But! If ypu are looking for a budget friendly, excellent location, very attentive staff, walkable to anything, and prime spot on the Upper West Side, this is the best place. The building is not new, but the staff are great at keeping the place clean. They brought us up a small fridge which was a Godsend! The A/C worked great, and there was a muggy heatwave this week in NYC. You can walk to the subway, restaurants, shops, and once on the subway you can go anywhere you need. You are only one block from Central Park. You won't regret staying here!

The rooms were smaller than expected, ice machine was on the 1st floor (no ice bucket available), and no small refrigerator in the room.

Shower did not work -handle fell off. Couldn’t move us so we showered in an out of service room but communication next day when told we could not use anymore was unfortunate. They did eventually move us but we missed scheduled items that morning due to how they wanted to make move. First room also: Handle fell off closet. No light bulb in lamp. Plugs didn’t work. No phone. Floors - bathroom walls dirty. Lampshades torn. Etc Public space needed a good cleaning. Especially hallways and stairs. Second room - walls damaged by toilet -etc cleanliness issues and lampshade torn. Evening Jennifer tried as did as gal during day. But staff could use training on what to do if room does not function for what guest is paying for. Attending meetings or having to check other rooms should not take presidency to fix. No one ever apologized

L I had a wonderful experience during my stay from the staff, the clean room, air-conditioning, and feeling safe. I was very pleased with my stay. And I am a visually impaired person in my safety is important to me when I travel

the location was room was clean, water pressure was excellent and hot, air conditioning was good, breakfast good. The location to the many museums and Central Park was wonderful. There was no microwave or fridge in the room. Bed was very comfortable.

Now to the bad. The hotel is a mess. The carpeted floors are dirty and bleach stained. The walls are also dirty, stained and poorly patched in places. The amenities are a joke. We had 2 rooms - in one room the AC squeaked so loudly you could hardly sleep, in the other the AC blew out air but it was not cold despite 2 visits from engineering. The TVs didn’t work, there were random items left in the rooms (a bag from an Apple Store in one room, cover for the ironing board in the other). The towels and sheets were very worn. I appreciate NYC hotels are unique and tiny the bathrooms are to be expected, but these were beyond tiny. If you are a person over 6’ tall or 200 lbs you will not be able to close the door when using the loo. I’ve spent years visiting NYC and now live here and was frankly embarrassed to have my family stay here. La Quinta could and frankly should do better. I expected that by booking a hotel under the La Quinta flag I could expect a certain level of cleanliness and room maintenance but I was wrong. Highly disappointed and strongly do not recommend unless it is a crisis.

The location is very good. It was quiet and cozy. However The bathroom window has no privacy which I recognized next day (when light is on, can’t recognize ) and you realize there are other windows facing the bathroom window and toilet. If you are man, You are exposed with #1.

This hotel is perfectly situated next to Central Park and great family friendly eating options. It’s well below the cost of most hotels in area—for a reason. Rooms are small, in need of updating and only one elevator. Still, the staff is super helpful, the location and price are great and if you aren’t in the room much, who cares about the size. We’ve stayed several times with our grandkids. And will go back again.

Good for quick trips. Bed was broken.

Two words. Bed Bugs. Arrived, checked the mattress as the hotel was sketchy and found a bed bug. Yes, I have a photo. Checked in and out within 10 minutes! Beware of this hotel!

The size and condition of the two rooms we stayed in were poor. We will never stay in that location again. The lobby was okay. the staff was very nice and friendly. But after that that we were extremely extremely disappointed.

Had a problem with the tv the front said it can't be fixed too in the morning. They do not have an engineer to fix the situation

The other negative experience was the facility fees that were charged and we were not warned about. That being said, staff were great. They attended to our needs. The best thing was being half a block from Central Park. My daughter preferred to be in the park, so it was perfect for our family.
