Prime location, friendly helpful people!

Excellent hotel if you like a quieter NYC neighborhood. Easy subway access or a walk to midtown gets you to many attractions.

This hotel is s gem however the room which I was given, 500, was not. 500 shares a wall with the elevator and the bathroom nextdoor, every single door opening and closing was magnified in this internal facing room, For some reason a door in the hallway was opened and slammed all night. Thankfully I had noise canceling headphones. In the morning I think I determined that the door was where housekeeping was housed. I imagine this is unique to room 500 as everyone in the hotel looked a lot more rested this morning than I felt. The hotel is lovely and clean and I would stay here again in a millisecond, just most definitely in a quiet room away from the elevator and the mystery slamming door and my neighbor's bathroom.

The staff anticipated our every need. The jazz lounge was world class!

Perfect location for walking to the Central Park as well as countless restaurants and bars. Parking is a bit of an issue (the nearby garage recommendation has a 30min - 1h notification period to get the car ready) but overall the hotel is in pristine condition. The high level of interior finishing is a welcome change from the countless dated luxury hotels that gloss over details and attempt to compensate with often unneeded services. The Wallace is definitely a recommendation for a stay in the Upper West Side area.

The vibe of the hotel was good, the staff were reasonably helpful and it was centrally located. I booked at a price on Booking.com and was charged almost double after I returned home.

Clean, friendly, polite & helpful staff, spacious room Loved the property

Our stay at The Wallace was great outside of check-in. We checked in around 4 AM, and the front desk agent was not warm or welcoming. He acted as though we were bothering him by checking in. This was very interesting, as before arrival, I informed the front desk via chat that our flight was delayed due to weather and that we would arrive after 3 AM. His behavior was very surprising. Outside of this experience, the stay was great. The rooms were spacious and clean, and the rest of the staff was very nice and accommodating. The Wallace is a gem on the Upper West Side of NYC, and we will definitely return in the future.

My husband and I stayed here in mid-June and really enjoyed the experienced. It’s a great location. The staff were super welcoming and helpful. Gave us free water the entire stay, which was a blessing given how hot it was! The snacks and coffee in the room were also so nice, since we were both starving after a long travel day. The room was perfectly clean and the bed was very comfy. My only wish was that there were more shower towels provided in the room, but it’s possible we just couldn’t find them! It also felt super safe, where a key had to be used to get up the elevator, which was appreciated. Overall, we absolutely loved our stay and hope to make this our regular spot when we come to NY.

Quiet lovely small hotel in great location

The Wallace never disappoints! The staff are friendly and helpful. The property is a hidden gem. We love the Upper West Side location because its very walkable and the subway is nearby so you can get to anywhere in the city.

Comfortable rooms and beds. Lovely hotel. The staff was the most friendly and accommodating - the best part of the stay. No coffee in the lobby.

Everything was great. The room is a decent size and clean. Service was great. The lobby bar was also very nice. I would not hesitate to stay there again.
