Good value for the money, very friendly helpful staff. Clean and great location
-
Great place to stay, I would highly recommend this property.
-
Great location, very quite room and helpful staff.

i was pleasantly surprised by how nice this hotel is especially for the price. Room was larger than others I have stayed in. Great location for my purposes. Surprisingly quiet. The only 2 negatives were the light was out next to my bed and the restaurant for breakfast didn't open until 8:00. Coffee in the lobby would have been nice while I waited.

Wonderful hotel with very nice staff, easy check in and check out, clean, large room that lacked for nothing except a fridge. I love the location on the upper west side, near to the natural history museum and Central Park. Nice Matin offers nice meals throughout the day with a hotel discount. The price is half what the same room would be on the east side. They do not have valet parking but the parking lot they recommend gives a big discount if you are staying at the Lucerne.

Rooms were clean. Staff was excellent. Will return for sure.

Very central to my needs and very helpful staff clean room

Lovely, quaint hotel. Staff are amazing. Building is older but well maintained. We had an inside facing room and asked for a street room and were promptly given one. Nice Matin is a great spot for drinks. Excellent escargot and fries. Stayed here when I first came to New York 20 years ago. So happy we came back.

Location is great, but that's about all that I can say positively about the hotel. The room was not clean, I mean really not clean. And other than the night manager who was amazing, the staff behind the front desk were incredibly unhelpful and outright rude. After the first "cleaning" of the room, I declined housekeeping. A day later I received a note saying that housekeeping/staff had the right to enter the room at any time during the stay. Honestly, they made a mess of the room and I didn't want them back in while I was there. I was happy just switching out towels. While I might stay here again because of its proximity to Columbia, I would prefer a rental or something a little further away that was clean.

Amazing location and beautiful hotel. I didn't like that we were forced to have our rooms cleaned. We were inconvenienced when we came back to our room and housekeeping was cleaning our room making us wait nearly an hour to get into our room. Also, the bell hops are too pushy asking guests to get a car through them. I wanted to get an uber, but the bell hop was so aggressive with me that I finally relented. I think that once a guest says "no thank you", the bell hops should not ask a second, third, and fourth time.

breakfast at Nice Matin A reading lamp next to the seat in the room
-
The pillows are great . The sheets are soft . It’s a great location for restaurants etc .ive stayed there twice . I’d probably go back because when i needed to check out a day early they let me with no cost and no problem . Just for that I’ll go back

You can easily walk to Central Park, the subway and endless restaurants. The on site restaurant is lovely and reasonably priced, especially with the 15% breakfast discount. If most of what you want to do is uptown I would definitely stay here.It was also quiet, even on a lower floor.
-
Overall the hotel was great. My only complaint is the mattress was extremely worn out.
-
Location, Location, Location!!! The room was nearly perfect. For breakfast a lot of nice places around so no reason to do it here. N/A

We were told that we would have a king bed and it seemed like barely a big double bed. I would also recommend the slow closing toilet seats. Check in person was a little curt with us.
-
DId not eat breakfast at hotel or used the garage..But it seemed to be really good... The doormen are a plus in the hotel... Staff is very attentive....Housekeeping was perfect...
-
Thankfully we’re young enough; but the old folk - that was hard to see; let alone imagine what they were going through. Scary to think of if emergency were to occur. Staff nonchalant front desk and many of them. Doormen were great Room clean was good

Th property is in a great location on the upper west side within walking distance of Central Park and some fantastic restaurants Air conditioner did not work for three days. The manager David said he would get back to me and he never did. Poor customer service.
-
An elegant old landmark building. The room was beautiful and very comfortable. I would stay here again. The restaurant Nice Matin is excellent as well if you crave a late dinner delivered to your room or eat in the restaurant in the same building.
