courteous staff, comfortable corner room with elegant touches (not generic hotel room), great location, beautiful building and lobby, entrance to restaurant through hotel lobby on a rainy morning it would be nice to have at least one thinner pillow

Thought the hotel was fine but we arrived at 3:35 pm and were told that our room would not be available until 4 pm. That is really crazy late for a room to be ready, particularly with an 11 am checkout. We had a 5:00 pm wedding to get to across the park and fortunately, the bride was late. But you should staff housekeeping to allow no more than a 3 pm check-in. I cannot think of anywhere else in the city which has a 4 pm check in and you should change to remain competitive.

Location , atmosphere, in the heart of upper west side Manhattan. A bit old, specially the elevators and part of the noisy old air conditioner.

Nice neighborhood in the Upper West Side. Good breakfast, clean room and friendly staff. My only issue was the hotel was busy and the elevator was very slow.
