Overall great experience at Belleclaire. We were looking for a hotel outside the craziness of midtown with a little more of the neighborhood feel of the upper west side. Friendly and helpful staff. Charming. Bakery in the lobby had amazing croissants. We would stay here again.

The property is a unique historic building in a really nice part of Manhattan. The rooms are a bit basic but that is understandable given the limitations of an old building. The problems we had were minor but could be improved. They have a happy hour every Wednesday to Friday in the bar. We were not told about this until Friday so we only enjoyed one night of free wine and snacks. The room was not cleaned on one day and we were not offered anything complimentary complimentary drinks or vouchers for the cafe. The shower did not drain fully the first day but they did unblock it the next day. The bar area is not open in the morning for residents to eat their takeout breakfast from the cafe or other local place. They increased the taxes between booking and checking in without my approval they took the extra amount from my payment card.

Pleasant stay!

The reception staff were inconsiderate and rude. They had no idea when my room would be ready even though it was past the check in time and they didn’t offer me anything for my wait until I was leaving. They told me I would have to wait until the manager came in, as he was supposed to be working with the team but he was not there.

Location is why you are staying there and for the history and coffee credits in the morning and lastly the staff who work very hard. The rugs under the beds are truly disgusting and the bed sheets smelled weird. The water pressure and its lack of heating up are not good. Saw many people changing rooms including us. Also be prepared to hear the people next to you in a room talking. Several times I thought random people were at my door having full conversations but they were in their own room.

Great location, close to subway. Walking distance to Central Park. Quiet, but lively neighborhood. Stores nearby. Cozy. Helpful staff. $10 breakfast voucer that can be used in a French cafe in the same building. Good selection of coffee, pastries of good quality, but expect to spend some money in addition to the voucher if you want more than a coffee and a bun for breakfast.

I liked the bar and the staff and the nightly drinks were great. rooms kept clean and appreciated the daily service. the bathroom was on the smaller side and needed ventilation. would have been good to have a slightly bigger table given it was a family room (and you do eat in the room often). breakfast was OK but could have had more options given it was the only thing to choice from

Close to Central Park, just a 7 minute walk! Staff recommended an awesome family owned restaurant which was in walking distance. If you needed info on transportation, etc they went above and beyond! This is our second stay at this hotel. Will be back again !
