The Newport Harbor Hotel & Marina

The location is amazing but the hotel itself is outdated.

Hotel was very “tired” looking. The staff was very friendly and accommodating but the rooms and common areas were not maintained to the level I would expect at the price point.

The location of the property is amazing! I had such an awesome weekend with my daughters and we absolutely will stay here again. It is clean, the staff were great, the location is fabulous, and the price was the best I could find for right downtown. Highly recommend!

Check in was easy. Young gentleman was very kind (can’t recall his name). Great location to walk to many places. Gorgeous outdoor views. Indoor pool was ok kept us cool. Outdoor patio would be nice if there were cushions on lounges and if music continued out on the deck. Restaurant for breakfast was great and not a bad price. Day of check in our room had debris on the floor and under the bed. Won’t mention what was found on floor, but unacceptable. Didn’t get to talk to manager but front desk decided to waive the daily destination fee (which I wasn’t aware of). Wish front desk mentioned complimentary coffee to us in the lobby. Spent $7-8 a day for a morning coffee. Also the $35 per day parking! Otherwise enjoyed sitting on the Adirondack Chairs facing the Bay and all the gorgeous yachts. If I stayed again maybe would pick a room with a view. Definitely would recommend it based on views and location.

I especially loved the Lather products as I use those at home as well. Super friendly and helpful staff.

I was so excited for this hotel, but the rooms need refreshing, the bathroom is extremely small and doesn't have ventilation, carpet was dirty, lobby was unwelcoming, and our room was 80 degrees during the day. The front desk said it was because of the sun and windows. Very disappointed in this hotel, would not recommend unless you want the convenience of the location. I expected a more upscale feel to the lobby and rooms. The washer and dryers 2 of 3 were broken and the laundry room was unbearablely hot. The bikes worked well but the staff was very unfriendly. Overall horribly disappointed.

We didn’t get a call letting us know the room was ready the day we arrived. Rooms were clean. Place could use an update but overall it was good and we would go back. Great location and view!

The room was nice, but not completely clean when we arrived in the room. There was an open wine bottle left in the fridge and the few tissues that were in the bathroom were crumpled up.

This was one of the worst experiences we've had at a hotel. Not one person we dealt with seemed to know they were working. All of them were on their phones. We didn't have shampoo or body wash for the two nights that we were there. First time in a long time. We forgot to bring our own and could not get them to bring up any. The TV in the room was broken, refrigerator unplugged and warm upon arrival. Just a half a shower curtain so water goes all over the floor. Shower drips endlessly. The coffee box that holds the coffee mugs and supplies was broken in half. Hotel was extremely dirty. There was garbage in the hallway for the entire 48 hours. We were there not touched. We asked the staff about the broken items and the lack of shampoo and body wash five different times. As we were getting ready to check out, someone brought these items to the room. For $500 a night, be prepared for a s*** show.

The room we stayed in had a great view. The property shows a lot of wear and tear. Carpet smells, bathroom caulking is stained, scratches all over the walls, especially in the bathroom where the maid service has been removing the little trash can against the wall. Beds not so comfortable. Just a lot of deferred maintenance inside the hotel. The location is great, but that may be about it. For $600 a night I expected a lot more.

We had a very comfortable, clean room. Kids loved the indoor pool and it's open late. Everyone was friendly. Parking was always available with in and out access but it is a shared public lot so sometimes we were further but always available. Great stay

The location of the hotel is great - right in the middle of town. The view of the marina is awesome and the service at the restaurant was first rate (great drinks). The room is average and I believe the bathroom is in need of a overhaul. Some paint chipping and no exhaust fan when showering.

Always a pleasant stay, staff is excellent, rooms are nice, and the location is amazing. Book the marina view you won’t be disappointed!
