The Newport Harbor Hotel & Marina

We ended up changing rooms. Our first room was right over the entrance and thus, was very noisy. Additionally, the light in the shower was out. They only provided feather pillows so we had to ask for foam due to allergies. They then moved us to another room—much quieter. Shelly at the front desk was awesome and very quick to get our needs met. Our new room didn’t have a shower liner so we requested that. While sitting in bed with a pillow over my lap, an ant crawled across my hand. Later we looked up and there was mold across the top of the room where the walls met the ceiling. The manager said she didn’t need a picture of it, she knew it was there. The location of this property is really good; however, I would not recommend due to the reasons mentioned. We also tried the breakfast and the service was lacking and the food was mediocre. You pay for parking @$35/day; not mentioned at check-in nor in the posting for reservations. We suggest finding another property.

The location was perfect! Easily walkable to shops and restaurants and a marina view!

Great stay great location

There was no fitness center. There was no room safe. There was no restaurant in the hotel. No breakfast. In short , very expensive for very little.

Great location

Pool was ok- but needs some attention to decking, doors and aging windows. Good staff. Interior Physical appearance and quality need serious upgrading. Great location-

The hotel is in poor condition. Paint was peeling from the ceiling in our bathroom. Only one of the drawers in our dresser was useable. The other two drawers were broken. Towels and pillows were old. Breakfast was served outside with plastic sheathing around the tables. We paid for muffins to go and ate in our room. The only upside we found was the location of the hotel. But there are others nearby and if we went back to the area, we would try one of them.

Pleasant

It’s sad when the only positive thing you can say about a really expensive hotel is the hot water was plentiful. The rooms are dilapidated and in desperate need of renovation, WiFi was non existent. Yes, it is in a great location with a beautiful view, but there are plenty of other hotels in the area that will give you that. We will not be staying here again.

The only issue we had was the small toilets being very low to the floor.

Also, be careful with parking. We arrived early knowing our room wouldn’t be ready, but were hit with an extra $50 fee on top of the $35 parking charge simply because we pulled in at 11 AM instead of 2 PM. There were plenty of open spots, so it wasn’t a capacity issue. When I questioned it, the front desk suggested finding street parking and returning at 2 PM, not exactly helpful when thousands of people are flooding Newport. Just be aware of the timing, or you’ll be surprised by extra fees.

Property is getting a bit dated (no bathroom fan, limited TV channels/operation, deflated pillows) but stay was comfortable and you can't beat the location.

View of harbor spectacular, had a frig and Keurig in the room plus an iron and ironing board. but no safe. Bed very comfortable, Air conditioning worked well. No room service but had restaurant on the property. Parking lot at the hotel and location right on the harbor and convenient to shops and restaurants. Only complaint would be the tv.. very limited shows, mostly local stations.. no cable news or shows.. an old hotel and a little tired but All in all , a good value for the money. Great location!

Superb

Our initial room upon check in was very dirty (hair all over the bathroom shower, bed, and blood stains on the window curtains). We did bring this to attention at the front desk and they immediately switched our rooms and let us check the room we were moving to first. The new room was much cleaner however there were some broker items and the rooms are pretty dated (pop corn ceilings and old scratched/stained furniture). Lastly, housekeeping only refilled our toilet paper once in the 5 days we were there and we ran out and had to ask for more. Over all if it wasn’t for the location and the wonderful staff I don’t know if we would choose to stay here again.

Perfect location for exploring Newport. Facility is outstanding and the harbor views stunning!
