Holiday Inn Express North Conway by IHG

Staff was very friendly. Pool was being used to hold all the materials for the renovations so it was inoperable. The laundry room had no power so the machines were not available to use.

The breakfast bar was unattended and dirty

Was nice to see the newly refreshed interior. However, the bathroom could use some redesign: the toilet was way too low; using the shower (which was much nicer than the old bathtub) was difficult because (1) one had to clamber over that toilet to get into/out of the shower because (2) only one door moved so one actually had to get into the shower to turn on the water. There were no cups in the room with which to take pills - probably because there was no in-room coffee; there was no cold water in the sink, only the shower.

Exceptional

Yes apparently there was a FIRE on the 13th of August and our room was reserved for 18th and NO ONE called me to tell me our rooms were not rentable. We get to the hotel 4 hours from us only to find there are NO rooms because of said fire.

The beds

Room was clean and breakfast was good Took over 30 minutes to try and check in. Staff seemed very confused and scattered when checking in and making room keys took a very long time and did not work multiple times. Hotel is being renovated and things like the vending machine on floor 2 was out of order.

There were no toiletries in our bathroom and I had to ask for a blow dryer. And our floor was under remodeling

It’s being renovated, so it doesn’t look the cleanest in the hallways. Would have been nice if it was advertised so we could at least expect it.

This hotel is under renovation. However renovations do not mean fifth. First room the bathtub has scum and clumps of hair. Toilet wouldn’t flush. Second room had a used towel in the shower rod and no privacy blinds.

The beakfast was very good.. The chef was exceptional very pleasant person We booked a room with a King bed, but our room had two queen beds? Not use to that size bed, and it wasn't comfortable ended up with a back ache? The pool ran short of towels, not enough staff on hand to replenish went back up to room to use those towels? The towels that were brought back to pool were bath mat towels as we were told they were out of full size towels?

Quiet and staff were friendly. The staff member who takes care of cleaning the breakfast area was great! And his attention to cleanliness was outstanding. Too bad the rest of the facility is not held to that standard. The room was NOT clean. There were kids hand prints all over the mirrors when we arrived. The pillow was stained and bathroom was not clean either. The room key wouldn’t work several times so we had to walk back and forth to the front desk. Housekeeping didn’t come into the room some days and I had to ask for more towels every day. We had 4 people in our room and they only put 3 towels in the room every time. The carpet in the room was really old and seemed almost sticky. The breakfast that was included was awful and some of the key items were not available.

The hotel was dirty. The corners of the bathroom floor were full of mold and dirt. There is mold on the ceiling in the room and in the halls. I had to chase down staff to get clean towels and toilet paper because housekeeping doesn't come in daily.
