King Charles Hotel

It was a good stay. Very nice owners and staff. Patient and attentive. You could tell by the way they talk and handle the simple things, they take great pride in making sure you have a good stay in OC. Location is perfect for staying just out of the rowdiness, but also not too far away from the action as well. Foot shower is easy to use. Brownies or cookies at night, done well. You are a small walk away from where to shops start to open up on the boardwalk. Water gets nice and hot in the bathroom. Clean rooms, couldn't find a hair. Nicely painted rooms and the hotel itself has a personality of its own. Parking is an easy process. Check-in is an easy process. They are very clear with their paperwork, and their fees. Some people complain of stairs, but the floors are not that high, and shouldn't be a hassle for most people. Very good communication, both before the trip, and during. The owner is a very nice person, and treats the staff nice, seems like a pleasant, down-to-earth person, it is always nice to stay at places like this. I've stayed at so many high-priced, beach view's at OC, and can say I've enjoyed my stay here just as much. If you are someone to like walking and exploring OC, close to all the action (one block from the beach & BW), but still in a quiet section, the King Charles Hotel is a great pick. AC unit a bit dated and noisy, but works. No table, desk or surface area, not a big deal. The positives far outweigh the negatives here.

The owner/front desk were friendly and welcoming, the hotel was in great condition, everything felt clean and well-kept, and beds were comfortable enough for one night. Parking was minimal and spaces were extremely narrow

Really enjoyed my stay at King Charles. The staff were so friendly and the room was perfect. The hotel was clean and decorated very well. I really appreciate the close by parking which is always something that I look for during the summer in Ocean City.

Went with my 9 yr old for a quick weekend trip. It was perfect. Great location, friendly staff, cookies put out each evening, and free wifi. It was all we needed for a good trip. Nothing

This is a good, basic retro hotel room with everything I needed. It’s not luxury - window unit a/c and no elevator. But it’s clean, bright, safe, and very close to the beach and boardwalk. Owners are friendly and accommodating. The bed was comfy and the screened windows open so you can have fresh air. Parking is onsite. The room was cleaned every day. I really like this hotel. I liked everything.

Location and free parking Beds and pillows were SO uncomfortable, which I cannot emphasize enough how uncomfortable we were. Mattresses are very hard spring mattresses, the comforter over the bed was very thin and not comfortable at all. With the ac on we were freezing. Pillows were very flat and stiff, you cannot fluff them at all. We ended up leaving early to check in somewhere else because our bodies were achey, in pain, and we were very sleep deprived. It was ruining our trip. It felt like we were staying in someone’s home but not in a good way. There was a lot of rules, front door closed at 11pm so we had to go around back at night. Can’t track sand inside so had to rinse off before heading inside. There really is no staff there so if we ran out of something late, we’d have to go downstairs and tell her we needed something and we felt like we were bothering her (she seemed annoyed like we woke her up).

The hotel was very clean, comfortable, and in a perfect location just a short walk from the beach and boardwalk. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the free parking was a great bonus. I had a very pleasant stay. Nothing to complain about.
