Courtyard by Marriott Oxford

Have stayed here before and love. This time wasn’t as good. We were put on 1st floor (which some of the hotel the 1st floor is ground floor, but it’s on a hill, and some of second floor is ground level). The first morning we went to open the curtain and there were people, right even with us, so we had to keep curtains closed. Also, that night we were facing the road and were repeatedly woken up to trucks gasing it past our room. Also needed ice and there was no ice machine on this floor. We had to go upstairs to complete other end to get ice.

Convenient Toilet hardly flushed and sometimes didn’t flush. The carpet felt welt. The sink would not drain. There were gnats bye the coffee pot. We were passing through and only needed the room for sleep since we arrived around 11p. It could have been cleaner for the price. And we probably would’ve called housekeeping had we been staying for a longer period of time.

Hotel was the perfect distance between the University and the center of town. Hotel was quiet for dad and the boys enjoyed the pool.

Nice room and comfortable bed and bathroom. Amenities in the bathroom were good. The phone did not work in the room. I had to go to front desk. The manager told me to check the attachment of the phone to the wall. I did and it was hooked up. They never came to check it. When I gave them my cards at checkout, I told them to take the time to check the phone in the room I stayed in. I didn't expect to have to pay for coffee and breakfast. My assumption was that it would be complimentary, considering the price of the room, and that other hotel chains provided from breakfast and coffee.

Our room wasn’t serviced in our 2 day stay.

Only problem I experienced was that both USB wall outlets weren’t working in our room. Overwhelming a very good experience.

Close to campus, much nicer than other area hotels and super friendly staff Prices are a little high

The whole experiences

Wonderful stay. Staff was helpful and very kind. Needed ice one morning and lady at desk went to bistro kitchen to get it so I wouldn't have to walk down the hall to get it.

Everything in the room was fabulous and the staff was very helpful.

It is what it is. Can’t give something like that 5 stars. Having said that, the location is perfect. Free parking so no driving! 10 min walk to The Grove. Same to Square

Really wish there was free breakfast and coffee rather than just Starbucks.

The computer system was down when we arrived which caused an extra hour delay in checking in so we were unable to make our dinner reservations the first night so we eat upstairs at the restaurant within the hotel and it was terrible. The salad was rotten, and the food was mediocre at best. We have numerous other dates planned to stay here in the future. I’m hoping that some of these things are resolved before we return.

The onsite Starbucks is always out of something or having technical issues of some sort. Not sure why this is always an issue here, corporate Starbucks should really step in and evaluate the site for standard operating procedures.
