Bide-A-Wee Inn

My family and I have stayed at the Bide-A-Wee numerous times over the years, and we keep returning for a reason. It’s very cozy, walking distance to our favorite restaurants, and super close to the beach. We had plenty of room for 2 adults, 2 teens and our large dog. We look forward to returning to Pacific Grove and staying at the Bide-A-Wee.

We love this place. So cute and charming. It has all the basics.

While the place was clean it is obviously old and has not been upgraded. Our biggest complaint was ants in the bathroom. We didn’t realize they were an issue and the next morning they were all over the sink and also in my medication packet. The bed was comfortable. There was a fridge, toaster, coffee maker and small microwave but we didn’t realize not use them. The Inn was quiet and close to the beach.

We stayed in the King Cottage, and we loved it! The bed was comfortable, there was a desk, couch, fireplace, closet, and kitchenette. The restroom had a porcelain tub and was as spotless as was the rest of the cottage. The property was beautiful and the landscaping was breathtaking with all the variety of plants, flowers, and fountains. We could smell lavender all day! Management was friendly and helpful, and there were pastries, teas, coffee, yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, and cookies out to enjoy in the morning. We thoroughly enjoyed our charming cottage in the woods and our walks to Asilomar Beach, which was only minutes from the property as were other attractions in and near Monterey.

Adorable cottage with convenient parking, not far from the highway. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Even had cake and bagels in the morning. Small but efficient refrigerator and kitchen were perfect for our needs. You’ll love it.

Great place with a basic kitchenette

It is very close to the ocean which is nice. The room was great. It was pretty clean. Im a professional house cleaner so of course I found things here and there but I think it's just because my brain is trained to do that. But overall I felt like it was tidy. The only complaint I had is it was a little warm at night. Even opening the windows the cross Breeze didn't quite come through so we were warm. They do have a fan in there which was helpful but it only points directly at your face which was a little uncomfortable for the whole night. The bed was comfortable though. Shower had strong water pressure. We would stay there again.

My husband and I stayed here for the 4th of July weekend. It was a lovely small and quite area. Beds were comfy and the room was clean. Unfortunately my husband hurt his back the Thursday before we left and I got food poisoning on the 4th at a restaurant we had breakfast at. Long story short, our plans for the 4th we're cut shot due to some issues we each had. So we spent more time in the room than we would have liked but it worked for out for the best. We still had a nice time and things were looking up on Sunday as we were checking out and still got to enjoy our weekend. As we were leaving we always ask each other if we would stay at the place again. And this was an absolute yes!! Can't wait to be back.

One thing to notate is walls are a little thin and beds a little creaky, but other than that it was fantastic and highly recommend!

This is my third year coming to Bide-A-Wee with my family. It’s a sweet walkable space with enough amenities for a comfortable stay. We love the kitchen option and enjoy the quiet space and helpful staff.

It was in an ideal location, but the room was tiny and honestly not very clean. We had ants everywhere which was disappointing. Overall, it was okay. The staff was nice, but the ant problem really bothered us. Beautiful area around the place and walking distance to a beautiful beach.

Property is poorly maintained. Walls are thin, inside and outside. Not good for family at all. Floors are dirty. All of the few electrical outlets are almost falling out of the walls and don't connect solidly. The last night of our stay there was a huge party in the "cabin" next door which prevented my wife and daughter from getting any sleep. I used quotations because these are more like apartments than stand alone cabins. Just because it is in a wooded area does not make it a cabin.

Excellent place to stay if you want peace and quiet!

I highly recommend this place! Staff is very helpful and pleasant, location is amazing, and the rooms are very clean and cozy. The amount of deer that you see was also a treat which made it a very unique experience!
