Holiday Inn Express Philadelphia-Midtown by IHG

Hotel outdoor pool was a saviour in 90+ degree heat in July. Rooms were basic, but very clean and bed were extremely comfortable. Air conditioning worked well and was adjustable. Hot buffet breakfast was fantastic and a great way to start to start the day. Only very minor negative, we had put in a request for 2 other couples to have rooms near ours- we were the first people to check-in right at 3 pm and were told that this request couldn't be accommodated and were placed on 3 separate floors. Not a game changer- but feel that since we received a very good rate through Expedia, we were just placed randomly throughout the hotel. All said, for the price, we would still make this our #1 choice for staying in Philadelphia.

The shower water pressure was really low and not what I am used to which made my stay terrible…also very difficult to find milk…

Parking was fairly challenging especially if you have a bigger car

better service and quality than expected for the price. Even better, the noise from the streets were not a disturbance. The staff was extremely kind and friendly.

Excellent staff, super helpful and friendly. The breakfast options were great and the staff working at the breakfast area deserve a lot of recognition for their patience and professionalism, especially the older gentleman that was there most mornings (apologies for not getting his name). The room was comfy and the housekeeping staff was also very helpful. We loved the pool and spent hours there. Will definitely be back.

Staff was incredibly friendly and willing to help with whatever was needed. Always a smile. Place is basic but clean and if you’re staying for a few days to site see, it’s just enough

The staff check-in and leaving were incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was very clean. They offered a variety of ways for communication including text which I liked but you could opt out. The breakfast is better than average. Just remember they do not offer parking included. The hotel was pretty convenient for some of the the places we were going to sightsee. Plenty of food options around

Did not use parking, hotel is conveniently located, clean and the breakfast was very nice.

The hotel was conveniently located to downtown restaurants, sites, and other city life. The only downside is the noise from the traffic at night.

Staff was excellent and very knowledgeable. Parking was tight if yiu have a big vehicle (we have a f150) hotel is very dated and worn out. Pool is nice and fun. Gym is pretty lame. Overall a decent stay but the carpet in the room kind of leave a musty smell in the rooms.

Great staff, good parking situation, decent room, breakfast was a problem due to it being an awkward, overcrowded space where guests were loading up on food big time and leaving little for others while there was no urgency to refill the empty food trays.

Everyone was very friendly, helpful and kind. We had a great stay. Perfect location to see the best of Philadelphia.

The room was very clean and roomy. I really liked the pull out table under the desk. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Also, liked that the parking was attached to the hotel. It was very easy to access our car.

The staff was helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean. It is really well located in center city to get to the most popular tourist attractions. The Parking is okay but the attendants weren't bad. The gym leaves a lot to be desired but my kids loved the outdoor pool. They had a strong continental breakfast with great hours from 6am - 10:30 am.

Our room was clean and comfortable, and the staff throughout the property were consistently friendly and attentive to our needs. ​The breakfast buffet was a real highlight with a very nice selection of hot and fresh options. We also really enjoyed the pool area and overall amenities, which were well-maintained and clean. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable, enjoyable stay!

The check-in staff were amazing! We also loved the location for close walking attractions.

Hated the AC unit. Noisy. Cold and right in your face when sleeping in the closest bed.
