Kimpton Hotel Palomar Philadelphia by IHG

It was my anniversary, and they made my stay truly special. The restaurant even wrote a farewell message on my to-go meal on my last day. I loved it! Big thanks to Square 1682!

We arrived expecting that our room would be ready at check-in time (3:00 pm) only to be told that it was subject to availability. Since we didn’t have a timeline on when we would be able to access the room, we left the hotel only to find out that 20 min later, the room was ready. Annoying. The hotel looks worn and tired and there were numerous pieces of ransom

Excellent in every way, from cleanliness and comfort to location and staff. The price is a bit higher than I normally pay for a room.

The shower handle fell off when I turned on the water; there was popcorn on the floor of our room when we checked in; the hotels were very slow; the building felt a little grimy

We loved our room as we chose one with a separate bedroom which is great for early risers! The room was very clean, had a mini-fridge and huge bathroom with a giant tub. The coffee pot was a Nespresso machine with took us a few minutes to figure out but made excellent coffee. The restaurant is delicious! The staff is very kind and helpful.

While the location of the hotel was great and all employees were friendly, small details throughout our stay make it difficult to want to return. Valet is $58 for overnight parking which felt pretty high but I guess that’s the price of not wanting to carry your suitcases from another parking garage. The jetted tub in our suite had an inoperable drain which was a huge let down because that was one of the reasons for staying here and paying extra for the suite. The mini fridge in the room was dirty, as well as the entertainment center that was holding it. Lastly, they charge a $28 amenity fee but give you 20 credits for the restaurant or mini bar so when we grabbed two candies and two sodas from the front desk we thought that would be covered and sure enough we had an extra charge on our card after our stay that I am now going to have to dispute. Overall, if I hadn’t paid close to $500 for the room I wouldn’t be writing this review but it was definitely not worth the money they charge.

We really enjoyed our short stay. The valet was quick and convenient and the happy hour in the lobby was a really nice touch.

I want to personally thank all of the staff. My July 4th vacation turned into a nightmare when I husband suddenly fell ill & was admitted to the hospital for 13 days. Your staff was amazing, supportive & went above & beyond to comfort me & make my stay special during my difficult situation. I can’t thank them all enough & I will forever appreciate everything they did for me. Thank you thank you thank you for the bottom of my heart!
