Philadelphia Marriott Downtown

Check in and check out painfully slow and understaffed along with retrieving the car! $75 a day to park the car when we were told $50 would have parked in another location downtown for less.

Having complimentary streaming services available on the in-room televisions were a first for me and very impressive. The main reason I'm withholding a star is that during check-in, there was a large line of guests waiting to check in and there was not enough staff available to attend to everyone. It was surprising to see a downtown hotel in a major city only have 2 attendants working.

The location is great! Close to the Reading Terminal Market and a short walk to the historical sites.

Even worse, the comforter had a large stain on it that looked like coffee or possibly blood, and the sheets did not appear clean either. I had to call again to request clean bedding. Cleanliness and basic requests like a baby crib should not be an issue at a hotel.

Everything about the hotel was very nice in terms of the cleanliness of the rooms, but my major issue with the hotel is related to the opaqueness of how incidentals are billed, the nonexistant invoice or bill that has yet to materialize after 3-4 days following the stay is very disappointing. I was charged an arbitrary $18 in terms of incidentals with no transparency about what this charge constitutes. Then there is the mysterious $100 hold in addition to the $18 junk fee with no clear information as to what this fee represents. I tried emailing Marriott and this local hotel, but there has been a dearth of any response as of yet as to geting a copy of a bill that should have been sent within an hour following check-out. I likely will not patronize any Marriott properties in the near future due to these unclear billing practices when it comes to incidentals.

Everything about the hotel was amazing, including the property, service, locations, and vibe.

Quick easy check in. Location is wonderful. Just a few steps to Reading terminal and the hop on hop off buses. Easy city to walk. Iron hill Brewery is right around the corner. Rachel and Dana at the main bar were wonderful. Gave us lots of ideas on what to see while in Philly!

Overall a great experience

The room is much smaller than pictured, and the valet service was very unorganized. The check-in line was 30 minutes long, but once you reached the front desk clerk, they were very professional and friendly. The housekeeping staff was accommodating and friendly. I would stay here again and overall had a pleasant experience.

Nice hotel… great room. Check out on the weekends is chaotic!!! Don’t Valet Park. Huge lines and wait times to get your car (1 hour). Beware.
