Overall nice place. Clean, elegant and right in the middle of the City next to the train station. fantastic experience. The only caveat was the half door bathtub.

Unfortunately, this was a really poor experience. The parking fees were not readily disclosed, and were buried in the property description on Expedia, instead of being disclosed directly upon checkout like other neighboring properties. To make matters worse, when my husband went to pick up his car this morning from valet, the employee refused to get him his car until he gave him a tip, to which my husband replied he was unaware that valet was his only option for parking at this property, and therefore didn’t have any cash for a tip. The employee then stepped towards my husband in a menacing manner. Another employee saw the altercation stepped in. This behavior and expectation is completely unacceptable behavior from the employee and utterly ruined the stay.

For the price, this is an excellent stay. The hotel has been updated, the room decor was VERY nice, albeit small, with all amenities. The bathroom was extremely small, but the shower was excellent. Bed was super comfy and we did not experience any "city noise." We did not realize that the restaurant level also had a lounge and games for kids; we did not check out the fitness areas. All staff went out of their way - they were wonderful. Breakfast was excellent. Paying for parking stunk, but I think you would experience that at any city hotel.

The view is gorgeous, and the staff working at check-in were absolutely the sweetest and very welcoming. Valet parking is convenient, and they let us know in advance that it could take up to 30 minutes to get the car, so we just planed accordingly. The in-and-out privilege was included, which was also a huge plus. The hotel room was nice and clean. Breakfast was okay, and the kitchen staff were once again very welcoming and friendly. Location is good in terms of being right in the downtown but the area isn’t safe and dog friendly. Before checking in, we wanted to change one night of our stay to a later date. We submitted a request but never received a response. Booking told us there was nothing they could do and that we needed to contact the property directly. After several attempts, I finally reached the hotel on my fifth call, but the lady I spoke with said that only a manager could approve the change and that the managers were working from home, so there was no way to contact them. When I asked if anything could be done because we needed to know whether the transfer was possible in order to plan accordingly, she responded extremely rudely, saying, “What do you want me to do?” Unfortunately, we never received any confirmation regarding our request and ended up showing up on our original check-in date. The lack of communication and the way the situation was handled were very disappointing. The air conditioner blows directly into your face, and there is no way to adjust the direction of the airflow. It was quite uncomfortable, especially while sleeping. There is nowhere convenient to relieve pets in the surrounding area. There are literally no trees or grassy areas nearby, and the only grassy area we found had a sign saying that pets were not allowed. This is not the hotel’s fault, but the surrounding area did not feel safe. A food bank was set up directly across from the hotel, and there were many homeless people in the area. I was traveling with dogs, and if I had been alone, I would not have felt comfortable going outside to walk or relieve them.

The hotel was very quiet, conveniently located, and the beds were comfortable. The traffic outside can be a little noisy, but I didn’t notice any noise after midnight. The kitchen was the best feature. It included a large fridge, oven top, microwave, cooking equipment, and plenty of dishes and utensils. The staff were also very friendly. What I didn’t like was that there was no safe in the room. There was also a really nice sitting area on the second floor with foosball tables, but the bar was never open during my whole stay. I have never stayed in a hotel that had a closed bar. We also stayed for 3 nights and nobody ever came to clean the room. We had to ask for towels, toilet paper, new garbage bags, and hand-soap since we ran out. Overall, I would recommend this hotel to someone who just wants a basic stay with no extra amenities.

Location....Location...Location. The Facility was very clean and accessible. The Staff Was very Friendly and Accommodating. Room Was everything that we expected. The Parking..... I realize that the valet is a connivence and the Staff was more the efficient and friendly. But the price tag attached is hard to swallow

Location was very good. The receptionists were polite and helpful Most of the things in the room were outdated

Breakfast was simple but very good - eggs, bacon/sausage (alternated over two days), French toast, biscuits, make-your-own-waffles (very good!), and choices of fruits, cereals, yogurt, etc. Location was immediately across the street from city hall and 1 block from Reading Terminal Market. Perfect Fitness center could use more stationary bikes. The one Peloton required petal clips so could not be ridden with regular shoes. The other bike was a recumbent which is OK for some but not my preference.

The entire staff of this hotel is friendly, professional and helpful.
