We had such a great time. It is a bird sanctuary so a lot of bird poop outside.

We had a suite that overlooked the pool and the ocean which I loved. The staff were kind and helpful and the location couldn’t be beat. It was a very relaxing spot to end our vacation. I thought the construction, that is almost complete, had a nice modern feel to it, but it appeared a bit sloppy in places. There was no outlet by our bedside table in one room (we had to move the bed) and in the other bedroom there was no AC or portable unit. Overall, we would come back.

Great views of the ocean and mountains from our balcony. We even got to see a space launch from Vandenberg Space Center. Great beaches nearby, one only a few minutes walking. Close to San Luis Obispo, Hearst Castle and other activities. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Very good restaurant shares the same parking lot, walkable.

First off we drive past it because there’s no hotel sign. There is a flimsy banner waving in the air that you can’t read. Our check in time was 4:00. We arrived at 5:45 and the room wasn’t ready. We waited. 20 minutes later the room is ready. I booked a full ocean view and got put in a ground floor overlooking the courtyard. I go to shower, 3 body wash, no shampoo or conditioner, one towel, zero water pressure, and no hot water! Then im told I will receive a discount that never actually came. Nice rooms but not worth the money.

We had to move rooms because we had a ton of ants in our room

Newly renovations were nice inside. However, bird droppings littered the floor of the outside. I understand nature can be unpredictable. But the bird droppings were everywhere! I’m not sure if it’s something that can be controlled.

The room was great and freshly refurbished. The pool was very nice and large compared to the other ones that we saw on the neighboring hotels. The location was great on the cliff and easy walking down to the beach. There were a lot of seagulls and pelicans which created a mess around the grounds and in the parking lot and at times there was a large odor because of the birds, other than that, we had a fantastic time.

    Everything was very nice

We had an issues with the a/c in our room and could not stay in it with our newborn. John at the front desk was great helping get us a new room and even got us a discount for the inconvenience. The staff was very accommodating. Free rental beach chairs, umbrellas, beach toys for the kids and body boards were a nice touch. Besides our ac issue in the first room the hotel was very well maintained and the walking path was great with an amazing view. The breakfast was one of the best free hotel breakfasts I've ever had. Try the tamales they were incredible. Will definitely be going back.

Overall, we had a really nice stay. The staff was helpful and welcoming and our room was clean and comfortable. Our family of four fit into the Family Suite nicely and it was great having two bathrooms. The pools were nice- especially the bigger one. This hotel is transitioning its brand and covers two different properties. It was a little hard to find our room at the the second/adjacent property because there were a number of different buildings and no visible numbers. Also, beware of the pelicans! There is pelican/bird poop across much of the property, which was a little gross, but not sure it can be helped. Bird feathers in the pool sometimes, and a bird did poop in the pool (while my kids were in it) which obviously sucked. We did not have daily housekeeping but did ask the front desk for clean wine glasses and towels multiple times, and those things were never received. The sundeck was so much fun with a pickleball court, ping pong tables and other lawn games.

Green space was amazing for families! Views were incredible and staff were very helpful.

Renovated rooms are genuinely nice, but our safe didn’t work (bad install), the AC was weak and cut off overnight, and we found ants in the room the last night. Didn’t bother reporting the ants, just wanted to avoid the front desk again. That’s the real issue here. Same agent both times, dark hair, tattoos on her fingers, so management can identify her. At check-in, zero greeting, just “last name?” and silence, then we were sent to the second building with no real directions (you have to leave the property and cut through the parking lot). Housekeeping flatly refused an extra towel for our family of four before finally relenting. When I tried to extend our stay, she barely looked up and said they were “fully booked,” yet I found rooms open on both Expedia and the hotel’s own site minutes later. I’d rather have packed up and moved to another hotel for the night than give this place more money. Beautiful view, quality renovation, but front desk service doesn’t match a $500 a night price tag. Won’t be returning, there are other hotels down the road with the same view and better service.

Regrettably, the one thing that made our stay less enjoyable was the lack of insulation between the floors. The room above us had several young children that ran and jumped all evening and morning. We complained but it didn’t stop. We were told they would be checking out the next day but again another family with young kids checked in and we had the same noise problem. Please ask how many young children are traveling and don’t but then on the to floor!
