Nice and spacious rooms. Old charm throughout, just as I love. Didn't get to eat at restaurant. It's close Mon and Tues but looked lovely inside. Bed was big and comfortable. Has mini fridge and microwave in room. Nice and quiet. Area is walkable and accessible. Parking was a big plus. Only complaint is that there were small ants in bathroom. Mainly near the bottom of sink. This was in the Venice room. Other than that, I enjoyed my stay. Lovely little place!

A very nice historic hotel. The rooms were large, clean, and comfy. There was a small refrigerator and microwave which was nice. The housekeeper was very helpful. Great location for access to walk ro both stadiums and Stage AE and plenty of restaurants and bars in the area. Communication with the management was inconsistent but we eventually figured out we could stash our luggage prior to check in.

This is an absolute must stay! We will be saving this location for our next trip to Pittsburgh. It was in a quiet neighborhood, and close to everything ($10-15 uber ride to everywhere). the staff was super helpful and friendly. the room was incredibly detailed and decorated.

The room was gorgeous, charming and had a lot of character. It's not your cookie-cutter hotel room. Free parking is a huge plus as other hotels in the area charges upwards of $20-$30/day. Location is wonderful too as it is within walking distance of many attractions along the North Shore. Given that the oldness of the property is what gives this place its charm, it does need to be mentioned that if you like modern conveniences, this is not the place for you. The bathroom sink faucet has separate hot and cold spigots. You will not find USB ports for you to charge your phone in the room. The climate control system is a stand-alone unit. There is not an elevator on the property, so you may be going up 2 flights of stairs to get to your room.

Physically a nice hotel. However simple features like a hot water faucet was not totally functional, in room air unit with a hose connection to the window that wasn’t fastened with a large enough opening for a bird to enter. No room darkening shades. Small items. One star is for being totally unaccommodating when we asked to leave the car in the lot till 3:00. The person I spoke with about this gave me an automated response. They could have been flexible, but no?

Beautiful house and convenient location. It was a awesome place to stay and would highly recommend. When we go back to Pittsburgh it will be the 1st place we look to stay at. We stayed during a extreme heat wave. Temperatures were right at 100 degrees and the room got really stuffy and hot. We called the management and they brought us up a portable AC unit which helped immensely. Not a complaint just a heads up. The charm of the house outweighed any inconvenience of the heat for us.

The stairs to the room were rough but doable!

Close to the stadium and look of a Victorian Era mansion. We arrived earlier than expected and the cleaning lady was able to get us in early and suggested where to eat. She was the best thing about our stay. No elevator so you walked up steps that creaked. That was lovely at night. The bathroom is narrow -the toilet was located inches away from the radiator, there was no mirror to look at unless you were 8 feet tall, and the bathtub may have been quaint but an accident waiting to happen. There were no rails to hold onto to except for the actual pipes and you had to climb over the tub to get in. The shower ring hardly covered a child let alone an adult. At night light was everywhere since there were windows above the door and window seat without curtains. Room temperature was questionable at night and the temperature was in the high 80's with high humidity. We checked out the next morning.

Nice room in a great neighborhood. I thought I’d spend more time downtown, but preferred the restaurants and activities in the immediate area.

Wonderful hotel. Looking forward to staying there again when in Pittsburgh.

The themed rooms of Italy, the beautiful woodwork, the authentic furniture, the cigar lounge, the delicious food at Rocco's and the courtyard were all beautiful. The onsite parking was an added bonus. The clerestory window above our door needs to have a darkening curtain or be blocked out because the hall light is kept on until very late and it shines right into the bed--it kept us awake. The courtyard is very nice and inviting-- I think some more perennial and annual flowers/plants would look great and would help to fill out the area. It would be nice to have access to an ice machine for the guests.

I walked everywhere from the Market Square Juneteenth festival to the Mattress Factory campus to a PSO concert at Heinz Hall and The Lion bar. Amazing location! Colombino coffee is right across the street and Wise County Biquits is close by for brunch as well. Coming back to a large sunny room was a fantastic place to rejuvenate. I didnt have issues myself, but guests may have accessibility issues or experience noise from the restaurant if they are right above during dinner hours. Upper floors may not have this issue. For some reason the restaurant left their music on all night on Saturday but luckily at a low volume. I had a slight learning curve getting the knack of the ring curtain in the clawfoot tub but then i got used to it.
