Hyatt Place Portland Downtown - Old Port Square

I spent two nights at the Hyatt Portland. My room was quiet and had a spectacular view of Fore Street. The location is excellent; close to all the shopping and restaurants without being in the middle of a crowded touristy area. I was surprised that a hotel at this price point didn’t have robes in the closet. There wasn’t a self park option at the hotel, so factor in $45 a day for valet.

Great location, close to everything. Nice and clean. Staffs were friendly and helpful. Love the shopping mall next door, great restaurants, buffet place is a must try.

This was our fifth time staying at the Hyatt in Portland, the room was clean, but the pool had been closed. We never thought to check because, again it was our fifth time staying there. When I realized their pool was no longer there I went to the front staff to inquire about what happened. I was treated rudely and as if I were the problem and no compensation or even apology was offered, we will not be back again.

Great location, but, after a long day of driving and walking, I was looking forward to a drink at the bar, and it was mobbed with little kids (stroller age) at 9:30 P.M. I was expecting a more "mature" experience at a Hyatt. Breakfast was okay, but very chaotic. Again, a LOT of little ones. I am a teacher and love kids, but know that this particular Hyatt location caters to families. Fine, just unexpected.

The front desk staff was very polite and make our stay pleasant. Also Momma Jean in housekeeping was delightful in every way and went out of her way to make our stay wonderful. Aside from the staff the property was very clean and comfortable.

Parking for 4 days was $180. On top of the $1800 I paid for the room. Little steep if you ask me.

They give us a great list of where to have breakfast/lunch/dinner. The location is also perfect for those who want to stroll ant old port anytime.

City garage parking. Unfortunately we were driving a full size truck which makes it hard to manage. Not their fault at all but it was ours.

Central location - good hotel room

Pretty ordinary for a Hyatt and expensive. Our room was sufficiently large but again very basic. Our biggest beef was street noise and thin walls. We could hear people talking and flushing toilets all around us. The staff was great and the location is excellent. I think you can do better in downtown Portland.

Newly renovated rooms - very spacious and clean, friendly and responsive staff. The wifi connection to our Smart TV wasn't working and they promptly sent up a technician to have a look and fix everything quickly. Excellent location - right in Old Port and within walking distance of all of the restaurants. We would definitely stay here again.

Ideal location to walk to the wharf, restaurants, and shops.
