Other than being a little hard to find, this spot was wonderful and so much nicer than a hotel room! Great location.

Hotel was great, big room with a full kitchen. Location is right where you want to be, super easy to walk anywhere in old port. The elevator made this cool little James Bond -beep- noise when I touched the hotel key to the reader.

Indifferent rating for service reflects a combination of staff belaboring obvious points on check in while being unresponsive on follow-up. Example: wanted to leave my bag there after an early checkout so I could spend a few hours around town prior to moving on. That proved too difficult…might as well have been dealing with robots.

The property is very nice and in excellent condition. The facility redone less than three years ago. Through I was in was as if it was brand new. It was a lovely efficiency set up with a kitchen. The bed was terrific not soft at all very firm yet very comfortable.. And the coffee that they have in the room was wonderful, It’s roasted by a local vendor. Finally the staff was terrific and very helpful. Highly recommend this place if you can manage the price.

The staff need better communication. How could they forget to make up our room?!! So we spent the whole day out and came back to unmade beds and noi clean towels in the bathroom. It really spoiled our experience of what otherwise could have been a great discovery!

With one exception, parking which at $60 per day which ought to be disclosed at the time of booking since it’s extremely expensive, everything was just perfect! Super clean, good location, quiet, well-equipped kitchen and very helpful staff.

Great shower. You have to call for more towels and such. No daily house keeper check-ins. But for the space and location. Awesome.

I had only two issues during my stay. The maids had left the garbage of the previous guests in the kitchen. More importantly when I went to take a shower there was hair left on the drain. I never took a bath as I was sure the tub was never cleaned. Not good!

Poor parking options

We had two amazing stays at Docent 178 and Docent 121. Beautiful apartments situated in the heart of Old Port, Portland. You are in walking distance to some of the best food found in Maine. The staff were also incredibly helpful and one text message away. Maine in the summer is expensive, but if you are going to spend on hotels anyway, might as well do it with Docent!

Splendid, great location!

Beautiful apartment in a perfect downtown location, right on the fringe of old port. Would absolutely stay again. Only downside is the price. Very expensive for what is essentially a managed apartment with no communal facilities.
