The Docent's Collection at 121 Middle Street

Glad to discover this newer place to stay. Loved the full apartment.

With one exception, parking which at $60 per day which ought to be disclosed at the time of booking since it’s extremely expensive, everything was just perfect! Super clean, good location, quiet, well-equipped kitchen and very helpful staff.

Great shower. You have to call for more towels and such. No daily house keeper check-ins. But for the space and location. Awesome.

I had only two issues during my stay. The maids had left the garbage of the previous guests in the kitchen. More importantly when I went to take a shower there was hair left on the drain. I never took a bath as I was sure the tub was never cleaned. Not good!

We had two amazing stays at Docent 178 and Docent 121. Beautiful apartments situated in the heart of Old Port, Portland. You are in walking distance to some of the best food found in Maine. The staff were also incredibly helpful and one text message away. Maine in the summer is expensive, but if you are going to spend on hotels anyway, might as well do it with Docent!

Beautiful apartment in a perfect downtown location, right on the fringe of old port. Would absolutely stay again. Only downside is the price. Very expensive for what is essentially a managed apartment with no communal facilities.

Walking distance of plenty of restaurants. Off site parking easy to find.

Entry staff The TV in the living area and a whole set of lights did not work. Overpriced and more kitchen than bedroom

The location was great. The kitchen was equipped with almost everything. There is a coffee machine in the kitchen and coffee/creamer/etc but no coffee filters or we didnt find them. Also would be nice to have instructions on how to use the coffee machine. There was hair on the shower walls so I would think they dont clean it in between bookings. Kinda gross.

They can handle the parking lot slightly better.

We had no idea how fabulous our stay was going to be! The loft space was beautifully appointed and so inviting. Full kitchen had amenities you didn't even know you wanted (frozen marble wine bottle holder, deluxe swivel Scrabble game and art books, anyone?). The whole place left you feeling spa-like and city-savvy at the same time. Hannah and Anna were the staff who helped us--they were responsive, courteous, and answered all of our questions before and during our stay. Check-in was super easy. The location was perfect--right in the heart of the Old Port, so we walked to everything. Don't miss this fabulous place!

Great location and wonderful apartment for our small family to be comfortable Parking was a bit confusing at first and steep at $60. Once we figured out where to go it was easy.

Unexpectedly found The Docent's Collection on my trip wanting to spend an extra night. I was generously accommodated before my 4 pm check in time as I was already in the area. It is a beautiful loft style apartment/room that is spacious and very clean. Also within walking distance of a lot of the places I wanted to visit. I loved it so much and I would definitely be back soon.
